1812 THE AMERICAN WAR @ ZULU WAR WIP & BLACK POWDER SUPPLEMENT

I have been painting some figures for a couple of friends, Paul Doe and Simon Walker.

For Paul, I have just finished the 28mm Knuckleduster figures from the 1812 American War range. These figures are the Glengarry Light Infantry. The uniform was the same as the 95th except these chaps had muskets and not rifles. I am not entirely happy with the way I painted the flesh on these, as I should have gone a shade lighter. Sorry Paul.

For Simon, I am painting a load of Empress Miniatures Zulu War figures to add to his collection. I have now finished the NNC and I am working my way through the NMP.

I am finding it hard work getting motivated to paint figures for other people ( I don't know how you professional painters do it), so I am having to be quite strict and not start painting anything for myself until this lot is finished, otherwise I will never come back to them.

A couple of pictures of some Zulu War images that I sent to Warlord to use in their Black Powder supplement.

War of 1812 Scott's Brigade

I have finally finished one of the battalions for Scott's Brigade in the American War of 1812. I have been working on this unit in my spare time over the past couple of weeks as a commission for Paul Doe, the same chap I painted and converted the Perry Miniatures 'Ferguson Rifles' for. These used to be in the AWI gallery on their old web site.

The figures are 28mm from www.knuckleduster.com and the flags I had to hand paint rather than buy commercial ones as 'Flags of War' wasn't answering my emails for some reason. Movement trays by www.warbases.com

The following pictures show a comparison shot of a Knuckleduster and Old Glory Miniature for the War of 1812.

I can now get back to painting figures for me.
Coming up.............. WW2 vehicles and Age of Arthur.

Modern Conflict action shots plus War 1812 progress.

Wargaming the modern period is not everyone's cup of tea, so please skip to the end of this post for the 1812 period if that is more your thing.

As mentioned in my last post, I had been up in the loft and raided my sons toy box for some of his old die cast vehicles. These I have repainted and weathered to use along side the Warrior and jeeps that I had painted for my Brits.

I thought it would be more interesting to show the vehicles off in a few action shots. (Picture heavy)

Half way through this unit of American infantry in Scott's Brigade for the War of 1812. They still need to be varnished and the bases done but I will wait until I have painted the other eleven figures first. Although tempted, I am not starting yet another period, these figures are a commission for someone else.

The modern figures btw are either Empress Miniatures or Eureka Miniatures. The crews in the jeeps I think are from Old Glory but not sure as I purchased them unpainted from ebay.

Cheers,
Pat.
