Nutty highlights I remember fondly...

Here's a comic I remember buying!

love the fantasy of a dog banana which Nigel Parkinson used for Banana Bunch in the Dandy a few years ago..
Also lovely Nutty logo and colours red yellow..
Bananaman by John Geering

Heres the first encounter with the Nerks..But here pink! I like Bananaman in this period where it didn't have to worry about the tv cartoon program and could be very zany and creative..
Ron Spencer
all the pages I've put up I remember all those years back..

Barrie Appleby

ghosted by Steve Bright!

loved this character full of imagination..

Steve Bright did a spinoff series heres the last one 14th Sept 1985

22nd Oct 1983 George Martin..
Good fun this one..

Barrie Appleby 22nd Oct 1983

That image of Nosher panel 6 has certainly stayed with me!! Who was the artist please?

George Martin

Alway loved this strip Starship Lollypop preferred this to Nip and Rrip by George...not quite as imaginative..
Tom Williams

Gordon Bell who is of course great at drawing dogs!!

John Geering

Gordon Bell

Love the zaniness...I'm sure Steve Bright wrote this..
Tom Williams artist..

Always liked this character...

Another Barrie Appleby

Gordon Bell's version of The Wild Rovers normally drawn by Ken H Harrison from Nutty comic 1982

There's less detail and less dogs..though great expressions..But its interesting to see...you can see Gordon preferred drawing dogs with short legs like in Pup Parade...and maybe he had to draw it fast for a deadline?

Ken sure does a lot of detail and more panels...they are both good in different ways...

Bob McGrath's DC Thomson comic work through the years..

a kind of three bears but with pigs!! From early Nutty 29th March 1980

qute a gruesome strip bullying at its extreme...though it is nicely over the top..

Nutty 3rd October 1981 some nice silhouettes in this one..

A kind of Ginger from Beezer character..

Andy thinks this one isn't Bob it is from Beezer and Topper 13th october 1990..

This is Bob..from Beezer book 1969..some nice angles in this one..and colour work..

more to add.........

Meet-ups Peter Pest meets Steevie Starr

Nutty 29th Aug 1981.

I like Tom Williams style he drew many Beano and Dandy comic libraries of the 80's.
Great gag with the cat stuck on the car roof!! Also the cat was attracted to the car purring..I love extra gags and story in the comic page..
Tom Williams style often had arrows in boxes in the panels like the yardstick one.

Love the meet up following into Steevies page...a running gag..great stuff.maybe The Dandy could do some fun meet ups as well..
Ironically we have a Star Wars three now with the prequels!
..

Steevie Starr is very well written as is a lot of Nutty..
I know Steve Bright wrote a lot of Steevie Starr and others including Bananaman.

Move over Billy Whizz and Jane B Quick here comes Turbo Sarge!!

From Nutty comic 1985..

This artist did draw his characters upside down quite a bit.. also nice busy pictures..

I love to know the artist..I think he drew Spike in Topper in the 90's Annuals..
