Go IU

Tonight is the big football game with the University of Miami and Indiana University. I will be perched on the couch at six pm. ready to go. I hope it is a good game since both teams are so good.

My granddaughter's boyfriend came with her Saturday and he is our family's computer guru. He sorted out so many things for me and I can now load pictures from my phone into the computer. He was also able to load most of my stuff from the computer to the Ipad and showed me how to get it. That's not saying I'll remember everything he showed me but I can now facetime and show him the issue.

My card today is inspired by a card my friend, Loll, posted on December 17th. It took my breath away when I saw it. She also posted the video she saw by Pete Hughes. I used the same colors as she and Pete did for my moon.

A pun has not completely matured until it is full groan.

Old broad, new tricks

I got an IPad foe Christmas and boy, what a learning curve this is. All my other things are android and this is so opposite. I wasn’t good with my old technology so I’m having a hard time.

Lots of family get together since the holidays too that I am grateful for.
I’m getting back to crafting now. Ordered a couple of new things to inspire me. This is an embossing folder with colored paper that I added some more color to. I can't turn the picture up and down. I did this on my Ipad, then went to the computer to finish it. I still can't load pictures from phone to computer.

In the interest of transparency with this iPad. It is not easy, peasy, lemon squeezey.

They are mailed

I got ready to mail my cards Saturday morning. I gathered the cards, a squirter bottle of warm water to melt the ice, a towel to completely dry the mailbox door, pliers to curl the hook a bit more to keep the door closed, the key fob for my car to drive to the mailbox and foxy. (Foxy is my portable oxygen. Since she is always with me when I'm out I felt like I should name her so she is Foxy, for foxy oxy). It was quite an undertaking but I was ready for anything. I drove down, the mailbox door was closed, I opened it and put my cards in, closed the door and put the flag up just fine. Turns out my neighbor sent her son down to fix mine and open hers! It's wonderful to have such terrific people around you.

This card uses a new Unity Santa stamp and is matted by Simon Says Postage Stamp Edge Frames. I colored the image with Copics and the greeting is by Rubber Stampede, an old company set I've had for years.

I usually don't talk about the expensive trips I take...but I just got back from the grocery store.

I got them loaded

I spent two hours day before yesterday trying to upload pictures again. Somehow I have been disconnected from something between my phone and computer. I've been to all the things I know to do with no results. I emailed pictures to myself, then didn't know what to do with them. It was a really bad day and I just couldn't function. This morning I emailed them and downloaded them. Then opened my downloads and dragged them into my picture folder. It takes forever but I did it. Then I went out to mail my cards, finally. Wednesday it was 45 degrees here, yesterday it was 54. Today it is 14 degrees and my mailbox was open with ice in the door so it wouldn't close. I came in and called my next door neighbor and asked if she would mind if I put my outgoing mail in her mailbox. She said no problem. I went back out and hers is frozen shut! I normally do not go out in this kind of cold. The wind is making a wind chill and I can't breathe in that air. Bottom line is I'm mailing them tomorrow. I'm sorry my cards are so late but I will tell you I really enjoyed making them even though they are quite simple. It made me so happy to be in the crafty mood again.

I bought the Simon Says kit last year at Christmas and I used the manger die for this card. The paper was in my stash. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it in gold along with the star.

Give me coffee to change the things I can and wine to accept the things I can't.

I actually sent this

This is the last card I was able to load from my phone to the computer. It is worse than it was last time I tried. I am making Christmas cards on most days. I have more energy on some days than others and I have to work with that.

I made this card for my daughter in law who had foot surgery last month. I swear to you I did not notice how crooked the greeting looks until after I'd sent it. When I posted the picture on the computer I was mortified I'd sent it to her. I know she was on pain killers the first week so maybe it looked good to her!

Be careful on the roads out there today. My car just slid right into a craft store parking lot!

Get well

All of a sudden I needed get well cards for several people. Two surgeries and one broken hip from a fall. The broken hip is bad because she is my age and will have to be in rehab for a good while. One is my daughter in law who had foot surgery and one is a great card maker friend.

Since I still had my fall "stuff" out, I used the pattern paper to make a couple of cards with it. You know how I love my pattern paper! This Mintay autumn pad was a free gift with a purchase and it is wonderful. Beautiful papers with lots of images to fussy cut. I used a round die to cut the bouquet because everyone who has surgery should have flowers.

I may not be "wonder woman" but I can do things that really make you wonder.

I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and I want you to know how thankful I am that you all come to visit and stay to comment even when I'm not making a lot of cards.
