Important! News From Gaza On 9th and 10th August 2014

I am posting this by request of a friend in Gaza. Gaza on 9th and 10th August 2014 The security situation in Gaza Strip is confusing! The Israeli air raids did not stop all night and day! In their air raids in the past 24 hours, they demolished more than 100 homes of civilians! For instance, last night in 30 minutes in border town of Rafah, they attacked an area with 30 missiles from F16s heavy bombers! In the meantime, those Israelis conditioned that they will not join the indirect talks with the Palestinian delegation in Cairo except when the Palestinians stop launching rockets at Israel; the Palestinians stopped their military reaction! It was weird and confusing! At the humanitarian level, some of the displaced people have returned to their somehow damaged homes but it is still in a reasonable condition to stay in! This is following saying: "No place like home" or "Home sweet home"! Some others returned during the 72 cease fire period; they wanted to re-es...

Cause Announcement from Palestinian Refugees Right to Return - Al-Awda

Dear All  As you know, Israel seized and confiscated 19,000,000 donums of Palestinian land which makes 93% of Israel's area. Now Israel passed a law which effectively allow the sale of this land to any Jew any where. Adalah alerted all to this grave development. The report: " Dividing War Spoils " at this link: http://www.plands.org/store/writing/Selling%20Refugees%20Land%20Sept%202009.pdf summarizes the history and suggests recommendations. Maps and Tables are from the "Atlas of Palestine 1948" and Adalah's compiled data of 1953/54 confiscation. This subject should be raised in every forum. Cartoonist Carlos Latuff: “It is easier to break the Israeli bars than the Palestinian will”

Neda al-Watan , the PFLP’s Arabic-language newspaper published monthly in the West Bank and Gaza, conducted an interview with Brazilian cartoonist and artist Carlos Latuff , who is well known for his graphics and cartoons in support of the Palestinian struggle, for its September 2009 issue. Read the full interview in English below: Neda al-Watan Question: What inspired you to become a cartoonist? How did you become involved with the struggle to free Palestine and how did Palestine become the subject of so much of your work? Carlos Latuff: Since my childhood my dream was to be an artist. I used to spend hours in front of the television watching Hanna-Barbera cartoons. After 1990, I started to produce cartoons for Leftist union papers but not for political reasons, just as a professional. Until my contact with the Zapatista Movement in 1997 through the Internet, I wasn’t engaged in any political cause. Then, after a trip to the West Bank, invited by Palestinian Center for Peac...

Oliphant Channels Robert Minor

Pat Oliphant, syndicated editorial cartoonist, created a cartoon the other day that has Zionists everywhere screaming their usual accusations of ‘anti-Semitism’ . Bravo, Pat, for being one of the few main stream media cartoonists to make a critical statement about the Israeli government’s over kill in Gaza. Anyone who dares criticize Israel is automatically labeled an anti-Semite so the charge has little meaning any longer. I am surprised that no one has picked up on Oliphant’s reference to the great early 20th Century Communist cartoonist, Robert Minor (1884 - 1952). The Oliphant headless soldier is obviously not  ‘NAZI’ imagery but that of the mindless soldier that Robert Minor called, ‘the perfect soldier’. This soldier dates from World War 1 USA and not NAZI era Germany. I suppose most can be forgiven for not knowing Minor’s work. He was a Communist after all. That’s a scary word for most Americans.   By Robert Minor, captioned Army Medical Examiner: "At la...

Peace In 2009 by ~ davidbdr on deviant ART It doesn't appear that 2009 will be any more peaceful. My New Year's wish is for all people to lay down their arms. Humanity could accomplish so much more if we solved problems together. Stop supporting arms dealers and manufacturers. We have to solve world hunger and drinking water depletion. Fight Capitalist privatization of human necessities! An Open Letter: Father To Father

Bassam Aramin writing from occupied Jerusalem, Live from Palestine, 7 August 2008   Ahmed Mousa (facing camera) photographed four hours before he was shot and killed by Israeli forces. ( palestinesolidarityproject.org )   Dear Hisam, father of Ahmed, may he rest in peace, I learned of the death of your son, Ahmed Musa , through a one-sentence newsflash on the Palestinian news station Ma'an last Tuesday: "Ahmed Musa, a young boy, was killed by a bullet of the occupying forces in Nil'in." I was immediately overcome with shock and grief and bitter tears. And above all, that relentless feeling of powerlessness that I know too well. We Palestinians cannot protect our children from being killed. Not because they are soldiers on the battlefield, but because we cannot imprison them in our homes. They must live their lives, play outside the house, go to school. We tell ourselves that there must be in our land a safe place to protect our little ones. Should not our...

Why, Israel, Why?

"Now we have nothing left" Report, PCHR, 28 May 2008 Nasser Jaber ( PCHR ) "They came at four in the morning with two bulldozers, and they left before 8:00am. I own this chicken farm with my three brothers, and we worked day and night for 18 years to build up our business. The Israelis destroyed everything in less than four hours." Nasser Jaber's chicken farm was bulldozed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) 10 days ago, in the early morning hours of 16 May, while he was sleeping at home in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip. He still looks stunned. Wearily, he guides us round the ruins of his 18-year business. "This was a lifetime project for me and my brothers" he says as we clamber over rubble, wire, shattered sheets of metal and thousands of putrefying chickens. "I have never belonged to any political faction, and I have never been to jail. I don't know why they did this." The farm workers who are starting to clear some of th...

My Poster Attempt

My poster is nowhere near the spectacular one produced by Carlos Latuff today ( link ). A hi-rez version of this poster is available here: link to large version .

Brilliant Poster By Carlos Latuff

Carlos Latuff, the widely admired cartoonist from Brazil, created this stunning poster today. It is sure to stir howls of anti-Semitism from Zionist thugs everywhere and  a lot of wailing about "Israel having the right to defend itself. Ignore that noise and support the right of Palestinians not to be slaughtered by an overwhelmingly superior military force. A word from Carlos: I'd like to beg all viewers to spread this image anywhere, as a way to expose Israeli war crimes against Palestinians. Use it on t-shirts, posters, banners. Reproduce it in zines, papers, magazines, and make it visible everywhere. Here is the high-resolution version for printing purposes: [link] Thank you in the name of every suffering Palestinian. Crisis In Gaza

From My Cartoons

End The Healthcare Crisis In Gaza! Sign This Petition

Target: United Nations Human Rights Committee and Israeli government   Created by: Save Gaza Campaign   END THE HEALTH CRISIS IN GAZA   Since Israeli government declared Gaza as "hostile entity" on 19th September 2007, Israel blocks delivery of essential medicines to Gaza Strip and doesn't allow Palestinian patients to go outside of Gaza for urgent treatment.   The United Nations, The World Health Organization and Physicians for Human Rights have condemned Israel for this situation , but Israeli government is still continue to its policy and Palestinian patients are slowly dying in front of the world.   All the victims of this humanitarian crisis are innocent civilians, and many of them are children. For example in 14th November 2007, 6 months old Palestinian baby Sina al-Hajj died because Israeli government didn't allow her to cross Gaza border for getting treatment.   Palestinian MP Jamal Al Khudari said now there are more than a thousand Pales...
