Report a translation problem
I was assuming you just removed the main species from the portraits.
If you mean the picture in the grid where you select species, wouldn't a snapshot work? Or perhaps a little .gif of them with one beat of wings.
You'd get the full fly-around effect in the main top view when you clicked on it.
My apologies for missing the females' birds part in your description.
Sad that they don't have animations. They are much more colorful!
As mentioned in the description, the female plantoid's birds don't have any separate parts; they just rock back and forth so they would be very boring, while at least the owls can flap their wings.
Maybe they could be the same species, the owls being the males, and the player could set their empire to all 1 gender if they only want 1 set.
