Blighted Nile is my first voyage into making
maps for Quake 3/Quake Live. Features a techno
Egyptian theme with a key. Intended for duels &
2v2 team deathmatch.

The aesthetics of the map are inspired by the
Egyptian levels of Hot Wheels: World Race 2003.
Since people like to tribute songs to their maps.
Xxtarlit⚸'s Fantazumu track helped me to conceptualize
the techno Egyptian theme I was looking for. Barron
dunes, floating pyramids, no sign of people, just
the sound of devilish wind and a forgotten empire.

Quake Live - Install
------------------------------------------------

Drag jamdm1.pk3 to steamapps\workshop\content\282440\0000000000

The 0000000000 represents any of the randomly numbered folders
inside of 282440. As long as you drag any .pk3 file in there
it will work inside of Quake Live.

Also pressing the green + on the steam worksop should install the map
automatically.

Type in console for duel mode:
/map jamdm1 duel

Thanks for looking into it but it may not be just what you mentioned. If you load the map deepinside with this map enabled and go to the mega area, you will see its darker lighting there now. In high picmip, I noticed the rockets itself look different(transparent). Seems like there are large sized shader files in this pk3 that seems to modify the base textures for a lot of things, and that is probably affecting other maps, effects etc. I am not a mapper and dont know the details but you may need to rename the base texture shader names to unique names and then use that in your map instead of adding to/modifying the base ones. I just noticed adding this map to the server caused a lot of visual issues to all players regardless of which map was played. Again its just a guess on my part but maybe it will clue you in on the issues.

I'll have to review and change some of these transparent textures. Since it puts picmip 10 players at a disadvantage in some areas of the map. The main one being the two transparent textures above red armour. I'll update the map later on at some point to fix this.

Great map but causes item texture issues for high picmip players.
