Beautifully animated FREE game with fantastic music! The gameplay is a mix of puzzle and dating sim, with a bit of an action sequence toward the end. Short, but doesn't overstay its welcome. Definitely consider buying the artbook + pancake recipe if you love the game like I do!!

Very nice point-and-click adventure with strong Gabriel Knight and Blackwell Legacy vibes, in design and interface. I did find the puzzles a bit harder than normal in several places, such as not being aware that the scanner was magic and could ALSO scan audio tapes (despite Kathy saying it did), but overall it's worth a playthrough, with a guide handy if you're not particularly patient. Does have a few graphic parts, so CW: violence, self-harm and that.

Pros:
+ only $2
+ Music is nice
+ character portraits are nice
+ sandboxy in a way

Cons:
- definitely plays like a $2 game
- framerate is terrible in large village areas
- not really clear how to equip the hookshot at the beginning
- controller barely supported, no way to remap options (that I can find)
- huge number of typos
- start with what seems like a reasonable amount of life points but the very first enemies outside of the village can take you down in four hits, which is really one hit considering stun damage and chance of paralysis

Great for a low-cost distraction and some trading cards + achievements, otherwise idk

Pretty good Professor Layton-styled puzzle game. Like Layton, many of the puzzles don't have anything to do with the narrative, but enough do that it's still entertaining. Definitely should play the first Puzzle Agent to have even a shred of hope of understanding what's going on. I do still have the same complaint about the animation frame rate where it would be easy to tween the snowmobile (and it does, in only one point), but I can't complain TOO much about it given the amount of effort put into the animation style. Most of the puzzles are pretty easy to get on the first try, and several are impenetrable without at least one failure under your belt to get a solid understanding of the rules, but that's what the hints are for. It's not like the answers change afterwards--no randomized puzzles. Also a plus: unlike the first game, there's a definite resolution to the story! (with hinted-at potential sequel that unfortunately never materialized)

Cute puzzle game in the style of Professor Layton. The animation is a bit rough, but it's understandable since it's essentially hand-drawn frame by frame. Most of the puzzles were easy, and I only got seriously stuck on about three since the rules weren't completely clear until I viewed a few hints. The "surprises" on certain puzzles genuinely made me jump! Perhaps my only complaints are the frame rate on the snowmobile animations (since there are a couple of 3-D sections, not sure why it couldn't have been "drag the still frame along a path") and the alignment of some of the words in the spoken dialogue, but that's sort of nitpicky. A little short, also, but that means the game doesn't outstay its welcome =)

I like this installment of the Drawn series... a little less than the prior two, but because it makes me change my mind about wanting the achievements to count in Steam rather than be in-game only. The main one that makes me angry is the honeycomb puzzle, as the honey is very difficult to see, and the player for some reason holds it horizontally, so there are more places to drip from, rather than vertically as would make sense. I think this would be more fair if the game didn't have only one auto-save rather than allowing you to save wherever you want. I honestly restarted the game twenty times trying to get the achievement before I even considered finishing the rest of the game, just because I wanted it done and achieved, but it's too hard for the patience I have.

Other than that, it's a top notch sequel (three-quel?), with stunning art and animation (I really love the pop-up books!), and puzzles--OTHER THAN THE "DON'T MAKE A MESS" HONEYCOMB ACHIEVEMENT--that feel fair and clever. I definitely look forward to the next hinted-at installment in the Drawn series!

The second installment in the Drawn series, Dark Flight lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor, The Painted Tower. The game still feels much more "hidden object" than standard point-and-click adventure, but you do use the objects you find as standard point-and-click inventory items, and in a much more believable manner than in Painted Tower (which sometimes felt arbitrary in what objects unlock the next puzzle). The biggest draw is still the stunning art and animation, which is plenty reason to give a second playthrough, even if the achievements don't. About my only complaint is the achievements are in-game only and do not count as Steam Achievements.

Very cool visual novel/point-and-click adventure about... pretty much every social issue imaginable. Almost every character expressing a romantic preference is gay/bi/queer. Many are part animal ("hybrid") or have cybernetic implants. Classism. Robot sentience! Create custom pronouns if you like! The sidekick even hassles you EVERY TIME if you claim an "alcohol free" diet preference if you order drinks that aren't non-alcoholic.

About the only things I have a problem with involve speedrunning the game. Which is to say, it's not terribly easy to do it. Advancing text is incredibly unresponsive (and sometimes it doesn't allow you to do it at all), and the GUI sometimes misses where I select (click to bring up the cursor menu, but it's still highlighting the object rather than letting me select which cursor I want).

The parts I love are the cute designs and fantastic voice acting. The story is great the first time through, but it DOES get tedious after going through the lectures for the fifth time trying to get all the achievements. Still a great recommend for fans of the genre, particularly fans looking for diverse representation in media.

Great short point-and-click game, especially for free! It's almost TOO short, but that's just fine, because it does everything it needs to do and doesn't overstay its welcome =)
