Honestly, I find this title irritating. I haven't played the original version to know how accurate the emulation is, but it's a bit fiddly managing the various windows (inventory/contents of a specific item) on top of remembering things like "OPEN" a person to search their body(???). Furthermore, the game starts with an unspoken time limit where you just lose if you take too long, and there are screens where you just lose if you don't know what to do, or - in one instance - if you just walk into the area. I also had to replay the ending three times to get a window configuration where I could read the whole ending, vs. it being covered up by a different window, and the "Click to Continue" option prevents me from moving anything once the ending is triggered (continuing proceeds to a silly "Game Completion" certificate).

I get it's a classic title, but I don't really like it. Can't recommend that much. Maybe the only advantages of this version are save states and the ability to scroll back in the text window to see what happened before (unless the game is already ended).

A cute pseudo-mystery visual novel about a murder where even the CAR is the suspect. I say pseudo-mystery because, other than two "decryption" sections, there really isn't much to solve other than to keep clicking everything and talking to everyone, linear except when you decide whether to turn in the guilty party. Definitely recommend if you love visual novels!

Cute point-and-click adventure game that's actually MULTIPLE short games (6 plus 3 bonus cases), which is a nice treat for anyone who loves quick stories. The worst thing is the third "bonus" game is a cliffhanger (spoiler, sorry)... and I guess also there's the normal issue of the main characters basically having free reign to take anything that isn't nailed down, but it's completely tongue-in-cheek, so it's "okay" (it even SAYS so in the game!). Still, a nice change-up from paying for one game and getting one game! Sometimes it's satisfying being able to solve a case in one sitting, vs. getting stuck somewhere in a longer game and having to leave frustrated. Definitely worth a play!

Very beautifully animated point-and-click adventure! All the cutscenes and even most of the interactive animations are television-quality, quite a treat to watch! Still mildly annoyed that some of the puzzles are just slightly out of my grasp, e.g. I wanted to use the umbrella and couldn't get it to work until I "used" it in the inventory rather than used it as an item, but I don't know how much of that is simply not thinking in terms of the GUI all the time vs. understanding the gameplay syntax or whatever. Definitely still worth a play, although maybe sit with a walkthrough if you aren't super into puzzle-solving.

The binary rating system means, since I don't hate the game enough to give it a No (which is negative rather than disinterestedly neutral), I'm recommending Greyfox as a mostly okay cheap exploratory narrative. If you can get it on sale, even better, although the story is fairly linear other than the "Should this person die?" decisions. Nice music, okay art, but playable enough that it's an interesting expenditure of a few hours.

Another AMAZING game from WadjetEye and the Primordia creators! I found myself engrossed in the visuals, and I'm not even that into horror! Perhaps the one downside is it's a bit on the shorter end as far as point-and-click adventures go, but that just means it doesn't overstay its welcome. Content warning for death, in particular suicide, and body horror, so maybe pass if that isn't your bag, but I still enjoyed the game even though it isn't my bag, either.

Dude, Stop is a game for sociopaths. I was interested in the game because I wanted to be "good," but apparently you can't finish the game that way (or even get past the tutorial), so here we are. Recommended because it's pretty well made and I knew what I was getting into.

The Cherry Orchard is the MOST visual novel, literally a CG adaptation of the Russian play of the same name. There's a pseudo-cyberpunk element to it, however, with vaporwave and techno visual effects that accentuate some of the story's subtext. It's a little jarring how the lip synch doesn't really match (but maybe that's my slow computer not able to handle it), and there are a handful of small glitches that don't affect the gameplay, like the hovertext in the settings sometimes flickers, but overall it's interesting to watch.

A cute but short point-and-click adventure with beautiful animation. The major problem is the music is corrupted during the cutscenes and sounds like an old dial-up modem, but you can play just fine with the sound off.

Wow, this game is personally rough to play, for reasons I won't get into, but interesting game mechanics, and fantastic voice acting and music! I'm a little disappointed the one feature only seems to be useful in two specific places, despite my turning it on at every interrogation, but maybe it happened that way because I played a different path. Definitely worth a try!
