It's an adorable little runner game with lots of cute outfits for your hamster, some which change the jumping mechanics and others that don't. It's a really cute game, and it's definitely worth a look.

TLDR: I really love this game, it's probably one of my all time tops.

Curious Expedition is a seemingly simple take on a seemingly common genre: a survival exploration game with 2D pixel art. But as much as that sounds horrible and generic and flavor of the month, it's not at all.

There is a quote on the store page from a Rock Paper Shotgun article, that the game already has a lot to offer the player, even as an Early Access title. That's true, but that quote is from 2014 and currently two years and roughly 27 content updates ago.

Curious Expedition's first great success is that it's actually an *exploration* game. So many games featuring exploring are all about clicking nodes or collecting some sort of points or resources or whatever. Curious Expedition pushes you to explore, punishes you for exploring poorly and rewards you for exploring well. You also will want to gather supplies and loot as you go, of course, but you can beat a map without food or loot, but not without exploring. Using sight lines, clearings in the forest or gazing across a lake all quickly become habitual.

Curious Expedition's second great success is it's use of the setting. The Age of Exploration is fairly seldom seen in games, and the use of real people for the character names gives a fantastic effect similar to the Civ games: "how is Harriet Tubman still ahead of me I hate her!!" or whatever the case may be, it's more memorable and engaging than the alternative. But the setting also extends to the way race relations work in the game, or the various side effects of consumables or the way male and female characters may be received. None of it is done with a heavy hand and if anything many fine touches may be easy for some gamers to miss, but they're there and they're fantastic.

The music is fantastic, and changes dynamically based on how your expedition is faring. The pixel art is very well done and while some of the early placeholder art was very ugly, the final versions of things have all been fantastic. The character models are very simple but when you see yourself riding a raptor, it won't matter too much.

BUGS: There are a few, but the devs are very active on the Steam forums and will be happy to see your screenshots. I have never had a single crash type error ever, only things like typos or quest glitches.

PRICE: It's not going under $11 until after it has been fully finished and released, which is not going to be super soon. You get a lot of great game for the price so either grab it the next time it's marked down or just give them three extra bucks.

Factorio is now the bet reviewed game on Steam, so you probably don't really need my review to add too. It is the best building/management game to be made in many years, hands down. IT even launched on Steam with day 1 Steam controller profile, which works fantastically.

That said, the *only* bad thing about Factorio is that now that it's on Steam everyone can see how much time I spend on it.

If you like base building or laying out supply chains or any of that kind of stuff, this game is for you, for sure. Play the demo and if you are anything like 100s of thousands of people (and me) you will be buying the full game straight away.

The first time I launched this, what was selected and where the game showed my cursor were half a screen apart, and when I went into options, the game hung and had to have the process canceled.

I forced the app to use the nvidia card instead of being stupid, and it didn't crash. I turned on my steam controller and it picked it right up. Then I found out this game is multiplayer only.

Ok, no problem. Quick find just spun endlessly. Server browser took a few minutes and many trys to find any games with players at all on the entire continent (and only two world wide).

I tried joining a bunch of times and eventually decided that maybe I was being impatient, so I left it to connect on its own time.

I tried joining that game at 47m past 1pm. When I checked my phone to see how long it had been, I wound up playing Siralim waiting for the game to connect. Then I shaved. Now it is 20 minutes past 2pm, more than half an hour later and the game hasn't connected to the server or indeed done anything but spin the wheel.

To answer if I can recommend this game: I got it for free, from a promotional give away, and at that price I would not recommend you bother installing it. For any price above free, I certainly would not recomment.

It's not really a driving game, it's more of a car simulator. Like Spintires, but with a heavy focus on soft body destruction. The video below shows some real life car crashes recreated in beam.ng and it should really drive home what an impressive piece of software this is. Its fun to try things that would get you killed in real life and watch how a car would respond, but it;s also fun just tooling around in really accurately physics modeled cars and watch your pick up truck stall out on a steep incline, or shift gears too quick and throw a rod, or whatever. Also there are tons of things to download on the forums where there is a huge community of moders. It's not a racing game or whatever but it's a very cool thing and if you are on the fence I would certainly recommend it.

This game is a light hearted pirate themed game with turn based grid combat and island management/base building. Sounds great so far? TLDR it is indeed great.

Light hearted Pirates - the theme in this game works really well. The jokes are constant and mostly pretty funny. Lots of call backs and clever developments building on other previous things. You build boats and sail around raiding and looting and making jokes about it, it's great.

Turn based grid combat - Each member of your pirate crew is essentially a unique class. Enemies are also of these classes, but you only get one of each. The move and act system is very forgiving, letting you move around as much as you want before confirming. The tactical combat is pretty fun and varied.

Island management - every member of your crew, every craftsman and every resource gatherer needs a house, and then with beauty objects you can upgrade each building from level 1 to 3. Your island draws tourists and produces resources and gold as well as being able to craft equipment.

I would say that each element of the game is simmilar: the story, combat and building are all well implemented and enjoyable but not super deep. I find myself opening this game up very often, if only to play a couple fights while I wait for something. For $5 (or below) it's a very well done game with a lot more depth and length than you might expect.

Only negative note: SAVE OFTEN because sometimes it will just crash to the desktop out of nowhere.

It's a bad game, don't buy it.

Obey is a multiplayer only game, that no one plays. Obey is a game about out witting and manipulating your opponent that you will only be able to play against AI bots who will not be out witted or manipulated. Obey is a game with lots of positive reviews from people who got free keys but have barely even played it.

There have NEVER been more than 50 people playing this game, which is online multiplayer only. That's not even 10 full games going at once.

The positive reviewers, NONE have double digit play times. That's because there is nothing to do but watch the bots walk back and forth.

On top of all of that: the core concept of the game is poorly implemented, the graphics are bad and literally untextured. All the particles are default unity crap. Even the tutorial is incomplete and broken.

Don't buy this game.

When this game was in Early Access I was gifted a code and asked to review it if I liked the game. I did like the game, and I left a fairly long and detailed review about what I liked and didn't like, giving the game an over all positive review as an EA game that needed work but had value and promise.

Then they shipped that buggy, content poor beta as the 1.0 final version, AND made the game episodic. These are both terrible ideas, the game is no where near finished and ending a Harvest Moon type game with a cliff hanger is stupid. I updated my review but left it over all positive.

Now they are trying to recruit professional people to submit CV and portfolio to then work for free on things like THE STORY OF THE GAME. They claim they have enough money to finish, but at the same time not enough money to hire the 4-6 people they apparently need to do work they have not done. Which is especially galling because this game was Kickstarted, and raised nearly $50000 two years ago. Lots of those backers never even got Steam keys, by the way.

TLDR: the slow development of this game cannot be excused as incompetency, after all these years and repeated schemes I personally believe this product is produced as a deliberate SCAM and that you should AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

You should already know: it's a rogue-like dungeon crawler with classes you recruit and send on dungeon crawls.

Now that the game is officially released and post-release-patched, here is a new review:

The game is fantastic. The different classes and abilities mean you can play two runs in a row with totally different battle play styles. The narration and theme are amazing and consistent and add a ton.

The concept works really well. Rebuilding the town with dungeon crawlers as your expendables fits "money run" or "artifact run" into the theme of the game so even when you are grinding for something it still feels like a natural progression.

The balance is (IMO) really good. You are low on things and people for a long time, by design. Your dungeon crawlers die a lot, by design. But it's all in service of the theme, and as you rebuild and get better everything else gets better too.

Also, importantly, they have added a lot of options to change the gameplay to make it easier by toning down or eliminating various types of difficulty. I find the default difficulty fantastic but I'm also a big believer in letting people choose to turn off things they dislike.

I paid $20 for this the first week it was on Steam, and played it for over 100 hours while it was still in Early Access. Now that the final game is out and there are new classes and areas and story content that I've never seen, I feel confidant that I will get another 100 hours. As some one who never pays full price for a game, this is a game I bought at full price and I'm glad I did.
