Don't let yourself fooled by its cartoonish look! This is another awful amateur game lazily made with Unity.

The game starts with a silly but somehow funny 1 minute intro featuring our hero, a blue-greenish crab-looking alien with four eyes, a high pitched voice and a laser pistol telling how he got into deep trouble. So far, so good. But once we're past the intro, things go downhill very quickly...

First of all, the Main menu is not even adapted properly as the Start and Exit buttons are cut offscreen. Hmmm, maybe the game was made with 4:3 ratio in mind? Okay, then. I change the ratio but see not improvement. In fact, the issue is even more noticeable so I switch back to 16:9 ratio. This is bad omen...

What comes next is a horrendous third person shooter plagued with poor shooting mechanics, clunky controls, poor level design, forgettable encounters as well as performance issues. Laser pistol, shotgun and machine gun act pretty much like hitscan weapons with cheap SFX. Movements are very stiff and the fact that our character can get stuck so easily makes the experience even worse. Levels are narrow and flat terrains that simply consist of walking straight toward the exit. Enemies cannot be shot at until they have been "agro" and don't flinch when taking damage. Not to mention that their walking or running animations look more like sliding than anything. As for the technical aspect, the framerate will sometimes drop below 30fps.

I made it through the three first levels but couldn't complete the last one since I didn't know what to do.

Gamer beware... You're in for a fraud...

Perhaps one of the worst attempt at paying homage to Skyrim and Thief I have seen in my entire life... And this is from someone who played thousand of games, ranging from Triple A titles to Indie games!

For 10$, you get a game that plays more like a stealth game than an actual action game involving tense melee combat between knights and paladins... The campaign merely consists of tiny maps where it's required to kill a number of enemies before progressing to the next level.

As you can see in my gameplay videos, the maps start with preplaced enemies. Some with their back turned to you. Some facing you. No routine. No idle animation. No dialogue. Those who face you will simply attack you on sight. Those who have their back turned to you will simply wait for the kill. The AI is pretty much braindead as they don't react to sound. This means you can kill two people behind them without being detected. Sigh... I have yet to see the homage to Skyrim and Thief in this one...

Listen, I know this game has been made by one person, but still... It can't be used as an excuse.

Definitely not worth the 10$ that it's asking for!
And not even worth 1$ and your precious time...

This 12th installment is the longuest of the franchise but sometimes feels tedious...

THE GOOD
+ High production value (presentation, visuals, cutscenes, voice acting, etc.)
+ Player appearence customization (gender, race, face)
+ Gruesome, gratuitous and gory dismemberment scene at the beginning
+ Loadout selection and weapon customization before starting missions
+ Cybernetic powers featuring Remote Control, Remote Destruction, Swam of Flies and more
+ Some creepy atmosphere featuring malfunctionning robots!
+ Robots, and LOTS of them
+ Mecha boss fights!!!
+ 10 hours campaign but...

THE BAD
- Uninteresting plot that tends to drag for too long
- Forgettable characters
- Very linear mission leaving ZERO player agency
- Missions set in Virtual Reality feels like a chore...
- Does not really take advantage of vertical gameplay (cybernetic arms & legs anyone???)
- No connection with Black Ops 1 & 2
- Cheap enemy placement resulting in the player being constantly shot at from every angles
- Useless AI teammates waiting for the player to do all the job before moving on
- Leaving missions does not save checkpoints

Only recommended to those who want to play every Call of Duty games just for the sake of it...

A fun mindless high production value shooter hindered by questionable game design decision...

THE GOOD:
+ High production value (presentation, soundtrack, voice acting, etc.)
+ Impressive set pieces
+ Over the top action
+ Exciting snowmobile chasing sequence
+ Controversial terrorist mission
+ Believable urban settings featuring Burger shop, parking lot, residential areas
+ The White House siege scenery
+ Gameplay variety featuring drones, airstrikes, mounted miniguns and armored vehicules
+ Story being a subtle criticism (or kind of...) of patriotism

THE BAD:
- Very linear missions leaving ZERO player agency
- Convoluted plot hindered by constant perspective shifts
- Emotional moments not working really well in a blockbuster action setting
- Cheap enemy placement resulting in the player being constantly shot at from every angles
- Enemies keep spawning until the player has passed an invisible threshold
- Useless AI teammates waiting for the player to do all the job before moving on
- Laughable finale featuring an inflatable boat catching up a helicopter
- Only 5 hours

Not a masterpiece like its predecessor but at least an entertaining follow up!

In times when gamers are in dire need of Tactical FPS, we a greeted with Unity shovelwares that try to mimick Rainbow Six, SWAT and Counter-Strike...

PROS

CON
- Only one tiny asset map
- Repetitive missions
- Devoid of tactical gameplay elements
- Load of clipping issues
- Enemies shoot through walls
- No localized damages
- Bulletsponge enemies

Verdict: Makes Rogue Warrior looks like a masterpiece...

Doom 3 is certainly a great reimagining of Doom 1 with a heavy emphasis on atmosphere and subtle narrative, the only downside being the shooting.

POSITIVES
+ The Half-Life feel in the beginning, setting up the events that will unravel
+ The Half-Life feel throughout the game (meeting survivors & scripted events)
+ Terribly scary
+ Hellish imagery/iconography
+ Great use of lighting and shadow
+ Complex and coherent level design
+ Video files, audio logs and emails adding to the background story
+ Pinky Demon, Archvile, Hellknight, Mancubus, Cyberdemon redesign
+ Memorable boss fights
+ Simple and clever puzzles
+ The Soul Cube
+ Great length for a single player FPS (between 9-12 hours)

NEGATIVES
- Shotgun is ridiculously inaccurate
- Machine gun, chain gun and plasma gun feel underpowered (rate of fire and damage output)
- Shotgunner zombies shoot at you with pinpoint accuracy and double rate of fire
- Enemies never flinch when getting shot by automatic weapons (bullet sponge syndrome)
- Over reliance on trapping the player in unavoidable situation (cheap ambush & monster closet tactics)
- We only get the BFG at the very end of the game
- Only one level set in Hell
- Engine uncapable of generating gibs or dismemberments, making the rocket launcher kills unimpressive
- Low polygon count models

Verdict: Doom 3 definitely stoods the test of time, although not a masterpiece. It is an audacious take on the franchise as it trades the straightforward action for a more slow paced experience.

Terrorist Elimination is possibly the most advanced Game Guru project to be released on Steam so far...

POSITIVES:
+ Main Menu background (not the default background!)
+ HUD (not the default HUD!)
+ Hands (not the default hands!)
+ Some sense of tactical gameplay elements (I use this term loosely!)
+ A variety of firearms

NEGATIVES:
- Simple objectives
- Repetitive maps
- Exploitable and braindead AI
- Cannot save progression
- No Map Selection Menu
- No Option Menu

Verdict: A poor mix between Rainbow Six (Terrorist Hunt mode) and Counter-Strike (Buy Menu).

The team behind "ISIS Simulator" and "Suicide Simulator" strikes again!

"Blackscreen Simulator" is basically a copy/paste of the horrendous Game Guru demo called "Asylum": one maze-like level, horrendous assets, same weapon/ammo placement, same enemy placement, same beginning, same ending and 5 minutes of gameplay. Not even a satire or a meme game...

Avoid like the plague!

To put it simple, Task is to Survive is your typical indie FPS made with Unity that features endless waves of zombies (and assets)...

POSITIVES
+ Runs smoothly...
+ At least 4 weapons...

NEGATIVES
- Bland visuals
- Horrendous zombie models
- Generic setting
- No real objective
- No sense of progression
- Only 1 map

Verdict: Feels like an improved version of The Slaughtering Grounds (2014) and The Last Mission (2017) but that's not saying much...
