Seems like a fun game, but the super old UI is terrible and with 0-20 player it's pretty much an offline game.

Great, technical combat game with fair monetization.

Collision is calculated in real-time, but when stuff moves, collision detection goes to ♥♥♥♥ with weapons phasing through an entire horse if unlucky, even with pings as low as 30 and seemingly steady connection.

A nice little game, especially for fans of Sherlock Holmes 1984 like myself.
Tricky, atmospheric cases with a few shades of grey.

My main gripes with the game are the tiny, restrictive zones and the loose and incorrect usage of the word "proves".
At its worst times it feels a bit like the garbage show "Sherlock".

A small bonus: When you finish the game, it turns into a cosy screen saver.

Played this game years ago.
Not the perfect shooter, not without its flaws, but let's be honest, there is no perfect shooter without flaws.
What this game IS however, is an epic war simulator.

Whether you like or hate the game, one thing is guaranteed:

(I decided to recommend it because I can see potential and beauty in it, even though I don't like it personally.)
No matter how often I try, I can never make it past the first 1 or 2 hours.

I bet it's a great game but for me personally it falls flat on its face right from the start for 3 reasons:

- Animations are very goofy.
- Characters feel very generic, impersonal and goofy as well.
- Story starts off very random and with very little to care about.


And according to google I'm by far not the only one who can't get into this game.

Great game if you love online brawlers with a lot of gameplay customization.
However, there is very little content and combat isn't perfect.

But if 30 bucks sounds right to you, I can recommend it.

The exploit techniques are still used, although fewer people seem to use them now.
But combined with bugs like weapons going through people without collision detection and the price I still cam't recommend it.
On top fo that, there is For Honor coming out in a few months which, even in the worst case scenario, will still be better than this bug- and exploit infested game.

A really awesome game, at least while you are still in the lower levels where people use swings like swings are used in real life.
Once you enter the more experienced meta, combat becomes exploit wars of the weirdest mechanic flaws, despite the safety measures that were supposed to prevent it.

Momentum and directions are no longer a thing, instead, people will be spinning like table tops, blades coming at you through the ground from point blank, with so little momentum and speed that your time-limited block won't work, etc.
It literally becomes bug wars.

And while the same happened to Jedi Knight games, there it still made sense because the blades were made of light and wielded by the force, no momentum required.
I used to play JKA for many years, but in Chivalry it just kills all the fun, atmosphere and authenticity the game otherwise has.

Bottom line:
It is a blast at low levels and a bizarre bugfest in mid-high levels, forcing you to either adapt to the exploit spam or become cannon fodder.

I like the idea, but..................it feels like a beta, or even an alpha.

- no key binding options
- no mouse smoothing
- dragons look cheap and are, apart from base stats, all the same

The reason I stopped playing so soon is that I couldn't even bind my keys the way I need them. Up and down being E and Q? Who plays like that?? How do you go forward + up + right at the same time??
Also, without mouse smoothing it becomes very twitchy.
All the dragons looked like a 10 year old drew them, or they were aimed at a customer base of that age, I don't know. They also seemed pretty bland with apparently no customization.

Had there been keybinding features, customization and mature looking dragons with distinct active and passive abilities, it could be a great game. Hopefully in the future?

As I am reevaluating this game, I would like to keep it brief and to the point:


This is not a perfect game. An impressive game for an indie title though.

And like other games that are not afraid of being extreme in some way, such as Planetside 2 or EVOLVE, this game also has its share of annoying problems, as well as the potential for epic times.


CONCLUSION: As the buy2play price drops, I can definitely recommend it to anyone who is not afraid of panic-inducing action and challenges.
