Dune Awakening: A Promising Start, a Disappointing End-Game

Dune Awakening offers a very fun third-person view experience. The story of the game is exceptionally well-made, featuring numerous cutscenes and engaging dialogue. While you're presented with different dialogue options, they don't seem to affect the outcome, which can make them feel a bit pointless.

The game is awesome until you reach the end-game in the Deep Desert, where you farm essential end-game items like Spice, Stravidum, and Titanium. This is where the game, in my opinion, falls apart.

My criticism here is directed at the developers' overall vision for this segment of the game. Sure, half of the Deep Desert is PvE, with certain areas designated as "Control Points" where PvP is enabled. These PvP zones are often where the much-needed end-game material nodes are more likely to spawn. Although I haven't been attacked in these areas myself, I prefer to steer clear of them.

As someone who leans more towards building and PvE, I can see that necessary ores are in overabundance in the PvP areas, while in the PvE zones, you might find only one ore per island. The developers really need to increase the amount of these materials in PvE areas or add an additional zone in the Hagga Basin where players like me, who prefer not to engage in PvP, can acquire them.

I'm actually all for PvP when it's fair. But that's precisely the problem with Dune Awakening: players are cheating, exploiting bugs, and outright griefing. The core issue with the late end-game is that when you venture into the Deep Desert, all servers are combined. When you first create a character, you choose a world for the initial area, which helps balance server load. However, once you enter the Deep Desert, it's a shared space for all servers. Coupled with the limited visibility range, players can easily be just out of your sight, waiting to grief.

Again, I haven't been severely griefed myself as I've largely avoided the PvP areas. However, there's a clear lack of care from the developers for players who don't want to engage in PvP and just want to enjoy the game. Their response to this concern is often perceived as arrogant and uncaring, essentially telling players to "buy/rent your own private server."

So, overall, I'd say 5 out of 10 parts of the game are awesome, and the rest is pretty bad.

Sadly, I cannot recommend this game for the late end-game if you are a solo player like me, just trying to enjoy the game. You'll find yourself limited by the PvP and griefing, and especially by the toxicity of some players and the developers' seemingly uncaring efforts.

One of the most fun games I have played in a while.
Intense action, movie cut scenes except its not, its actuall gameplay!

Three faction enemies to fight against, each with its each strategy and play style.

Challanging difficulties.

Awesome monthly warbonds with new skins, weapons.

The game that keeps on giving!

Hail Superearth!

Fun game, very addictive.

At first you die easily and need to learn the ropes.
Just like the real DRG you need to keep moving and grab those minerals + XP.

Fun as hell!

Sadly this game was a big let down.

Maybe I anticipated too much?

Felt since its shovel knight I would get the same feeling of retro and awesome soundtrack as "Shovel knight Treasure Trove" but this game have none of that, no retro music its all modernized (Not to be a bad thing).

Game can be super easy or super extremely hard and very unforgiving.
You can buy upgrades from different vendors in secret rooms but if you die you lose it all.
Came across some rooms but couldn't mostly afford anything.

Tldr: If you are expecting a continuation of Shovel knight this game only has Thee Shovel knight himself but nothing like old SK.

Did a refund of the game, sorry to say but not worth it.

Fun Game, brutal at start as you are like 90% sure to die within 90sek when spawning but keep going and before you know it you are riding on a Trex and conquering the world and beyond!

Seen the videos on the store so I thought id try it out with an open mind and no spoiling by watching Youtube videos beforehand.

Gave it 44min less than an hour and the game gave me clues with the crashed ship and you need to make food but further than that nothing. In the ship you are supposed to after putting out the fires, bring a battery but no indication on where to get it or get more tools.

I guess this is fairly easy done but for my first player experience and knowing its in Early Access still, a normal text tutorial on what to do and build your first vehicle is missing thus I refunded the game.

Played this game when it was closed Bete then open beta and bought it. After a while gave it a bad review.
Now i retried it again and I removed my bad review of it.

But... I take it back.

Before once base would disappear now it doesnt happen anymore but when crafting items suddenly when crafting the key components dissappears like one and it wont craft. But the item is gone.

Fixing it is to restart to menu then back but had it happen within 10min of loading.

Game has been out so long now and even had expansions to it but these kind of bugs still remains.

Sadly proves the devolopers don't give a rat ass, they had a vision and dream of the game but its still broken.

DO NOT BUY THIS POS GAME.

Game is retarded and stupid.
You burn calories ♥♥♥♥ loads fast, ulrealistic fast (even though this game is supposed to be realistic and the goal is to survice).

You get a hatchet and a rifle. You kill a deer, you harvest the meat, voila you are now down on -300 caloriers and you are starving. You find a house and start a fire and cook the meat, you are now on -1500 calories, you eat the meat and you are now on +100 but now you are thirsty so you need to melt some ice. Voila you do that and the fire burns out and your starving again and your drink you are no longer dehydrated but now you have no wood so you forage for more putting yourself even lover than before.

And that is how it goes on and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on. all within hours in the ingame time.
Retarded and stupid.
