I was there the day the Kickstarter went live, and gladly handed Koji Igarashi my hard earned money to bring Ritual of the Night to life. As time went on and feedback was given, the game was eventually released and -I might sound a little bias about this- Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night stands on it's own as an excellent successor to the Castlevania series. The man who transitioned Castlevania from a linear action game to an exploratory action game (with RPG elements) managed to do what KONAMI seemed to be unwilling to do, make an actually fun video game. Although some fanboys are upset by the choice to use Unreal Engine 3 to make the game instead of making it look more like a current IntiCreates game, I applaud the decision to go with modern graphics even if they look a little dated. I may have found a few bugs still lingering, but that might just be my PC; which runs amazingly well for a game that was on PS4. With a sequel on the way, now's the best time to play this great video game!
