The artwork in this game is absolutely gorgeous. It instantly made me think of one of my all-time favorite games, Ori and the Blind Forest. It's very pleasing to look at.

But honestly, the game stopped being fun after a while. The ways in which you have to make your way from one platform to the next gets ridiculously complicated. It's hard to feel the satisfaction of success when I have to deal with a bunch of crappy wall-jumping and awkward movement controls.

This game was pretty interesting when I first heard of it, and it was interesting to play at first, but then it just got harder and harder. It reminds me so much of some of the ways you move around in the Ginso Tree in Ori and the Blind Forest, except with much worse controls.

I really thought this was going to be good, but I really don't think it is, so I can't recommend it.

P.S.: Do not use the keyboard controls. They are horrible.

All puzzles and no scares. A huge disappointment to me. There are also no enemies to encounter, and the puzzles feel tedious and boring. It feels almost like I'm playing Magnetic: Cage Closed or Portal, but worse, and without a cool device. And to make the game even worse, it adds absolutely nothing to the story of the first two games. This game really doesn't even need to exist.

My biggest concern with this game is that it's not as scary as I would have liked it to be.

After seeing the enemy once and the way it behaved, it was almost no threat whatsoever. I mean, I died a few times, but that's because I was being dumb. Standing still is a bad idea when the creatures are around. And shining your flashlight at them will cause them to charge at you. So if you avoid doing either of those, you are almost guaranteed to stay alive.

You don't even have to run because the enemies just walk everywhere, and you walk faster than them. Sure, they teleport around sometimes, but as long as you maneuver around them, half the time, they'll just walk somewhere else and leave you alone.

In short, these enemies are slow, not scary, and can barely be considered a threat, making the game pretty boring.

If there's anything good I can say about this game, it would be that it has good sound design and music. Every time I hear that music that lets me know an enemy is near, it puts me on the edge of my seat because I don't know where it is, but then when it shows up, I lose that fear of the easy-to-avoid monster. I'd also say that the voice acting is good too. I especially love that they got Sean Bean to be in this.

This game, overall, I could probably describe as wasted potential.

This game is so boring, I couldn't even get past the first level. When you die, you have to start from the beginning of the level, and honestly, that will not keep my interest. Although it depends on the game. But this game has simple and boring controls and gameplay, boring music. Literally everything about this game is just boring.

How this has a 93% rating, I'll never understand.

One of the most stunning games I've ever played. I used to play this back when I was still in high school on my grandpa's PS3, which is currently my PS3 after he died. Unfortunately, resetting the PS3 for me did not keep the games he had. But at least this was released on Steam.

There's no point in commenting about the controls. They're simple and easy to figure out. You only use the joysticks and two buttons.

The visuals are absolutely stunning. The lighting, the environments made up of many ruins, and the texture of the sand. I especially love the way the sand moves like waves when a strong gust of wind blows by.

And as for the soundtrack, while it is amazing, I think I still prefer the music of the Ori games by Gareth Coker. But still, I love the music in this game. It gives off that peaceful vibe that half of the game is. And it makes later parts of the game eerie and intense.

Joining other players can be beneficial to you as well as them. I spent a good portion of the game accompanied by another player. You can give each other more "flying juice" as I like to call it.

When I played Sky: Children of the Light, it instantly made me think of this game. Equally as beautiful, but Sky has a lot more to the game than Journey does.

Anyway, I would highly recommend this game. It was great in the early 2010's, and I hope people will continue to love it in the 2020's.

Aside from my inability to be smart and solve puzzles, this is actually a really good game. It's one of the most enjoyable Tomb Raider games I've played yet. My only complaint would be about the QTEs. In these kinds of intense situations, I find it difficult to look around the screen for the text telling me what button I'm supposed to push. I have trouble reading the red letters against the black background. But aside from that, I can't think of any other complaints about this game. Although I guess I could say that Lara dying is not as funny as it was in Anniversary or Legend. But whatever. I still highly recommend it.

Sorry there won't be any video this time, TurnVex. But the post-recorded footage kept freezing.

It started off really good, but then there was that tree puzzle that had me stumped for way too long. I was counting the trees in the areas, but that turned out to be incorrect. The real answer was actually pretty obvious, now that I think about it.

So that aside, this game is actually really good. I was worrying about almost every little sound, thinking that something was after me. This developer has truly come a long way since their first Home From Work game.

I think I'm starting to understand the mixed reviews.

The game has its moments where it's fun and I enjoy it. But then there are the moments where enemies just start flooding in and kill you in mere seconds. But worse yet, at least for me, are the boss battles. It took me more than 10 tries to defeat the first boss, and I was on the easiest difficulty.

Honestly, so far, it's not been a particularly good game.

I used to play the original game, but it's been a very long time. This game a a major nostalgia trip for me. I like how they kept most of the game the same as the original. It's definitely much better with the updated graphics.

I would highly recommend this game to everyone, whether or not you've played the original games.

EDIT: I have finally completed the game. I wrote my review during the first game of the trilogy. I love all the new mechanics and abilities they add in each game.

Some of the things I didn't much care for were the boss battles in Ripto's Rage. It felt like a HUGE step up from the first game, that the battles were ridiculously frustrating. You'd probably be appalled if you knew how many times I died.

I also didn't care for some of the areas like the skate parks and the races in the second and third games. The skate parks were kinda boring to me, and the races are easy to mess up when doing tricks. I've somehow managed to fly an extra 45 degrees upwards after doing rolls, and then I go way off the track.

And the speedway levels in general, I don't have a whole lot of interest in, really. I just find them a little boring.

But aside from those, I really do like the game.

SPOILERS!

This is a good example of a low-poly game that can be visually beautiful. The different music for each different area of the map is pleasant to listen to, as well as the environment is pleasant to look at. But one of the things that really stunned me was the ability to transform into a bird and fly from island to island.

I have no issues with the controls, their pretty basic for an adventure game. The flying mechanic is good. I do enjoy flying through the air and examining the land from a bird's eye view. But one control this game lacks is attacking. There aren't any enemies in this game to fight. Well, there is one enemy, but I'll get to that later.

The whole world feels kinda empty, in the entirety of the game, there are a total of five human characters, including yourself. The only other living things are trees, animals, and a few spirit animals. Everything else you see is just ruins. Not that I had a huge problem with that while playing this game.

I don't mind being in an empty world that you learn about via the lantern you use to view moments of the people who lived in the past. I don't normally care that much about lore, like in Doom games, but I did take the time to read about the history of this world.

There are a lot of puzzles in this game, and all of them are not too difficult to solve, especially if you're not me. But I've enjoyed the puzzles, regardless of my thinking abilities at times. I really only got confused at the puzzle with the six glowing platforms.

But I gotta be honest, this game and I didn't exactly hit it off quite as well as I had hoped. Here's why.

This game was very confusing for me. With games that have a big world like this, a waypoint is my ideal way to get around. Not that I have trouble knowing where I need to go when the name of the place is shown, but in some cases, there won't always be a beam of light showing you where you need to go. There are so many chunks of land that it's been easy for me to miss a place I need to go to. This happened A LOT. I know you can get a hint from the settlers, but I had forgotten about that until I was about three quarters of the way to the end. I just kept going to every area, looking for a new thing to do. An objective list would sure be handy.

As for the enemy in the game. Let's just say this game had a very disappointing ending. Not necessarily because of the ending itself, but it's missing one thing that I've often enjoyed in video games: a boss battle. There is no battle at all. You reach the end of a hall, watch the cutscene, and it's over just like that. After the light made my arm all glowy and white, I was expecting to have some sort of cool ability to take down the boss with, but no. No fighting in this game whatsoever.

Many much disappointness.

I'll probably still recommend this game because it's nice to look at, the music is nice, and flying among and through the clouds is pretty cool. But I probably won't pick this game back up again.
