(Free Weekend review)

While I am atrocious at this game, I had a lot of fun playing it, probably because I was recording a video, so I was just yelling random stuff at the players, and having a good time. But I have played enough mobile games to know that these types of games where you have to unlock players and stuff by playing and grinding will not keep my interest for very long, so I'm probably not going to get this game.

But I will still recommend it because, like I said, I had fun playing it. I know from many other games like this that I have played that the fun will not last too long. I'd probably get tired of it in just a few days.

Needs more people to play it. I wasn't able to get into a single game because there was nobody playing when I played during the free weekend, but I did find the game, based on my experience with the tutorial, somewhat interesting. But I can't say I can fully recommend it unless it becomes a little more popular.

I only played a bit so that I could write a review, because I already played this on Game Jolt. But I love this game.

Mr. Hopp scared the hell out of me multiple times. Every time I hit the toys, I kinda freak out. I did find it a little annoying with the way he patrols sometimes, but I still think it's a really good game. I will be looking forward to more games from these developers.

Also, is it just me, or when I hit continue, did the game actually continue from where I was in the Game Jolt version?

(Free Weekend Review)

I am destined to remain in last place because I cannot figure out these stupid controls. I just get dropped right in, with nothing telling me what the controls are, except for the rewinding thing. So I can't figure out how to turn all those corners without smashing into the wall.

I figured out how to drift, or at least I think that's what it is, if not simply just spinning the hell out of control. Seriously, it seems to do me more bad than good. Maybe it's just my lack of experience in playing these realistic-looking racing games, but still, how am I just supposed to know how to play off the fly?

It took me 17 minutes of agonizing gameplay to even get to the main menu, and I'm all ready to quit. Well, I did quit. And I probably won't be returning to this game at any time in the future.

This game is really good. It scared the hell out of me many times. I don't really know what else to say about it. I'm not the best at reviewing, but I say this is a game 100% worth playing.

Had this been released on the 11th, it would have been a good birthday present for me.

Free Weekend player here. First off, they just drop you right in with absolutely nothing, no weapons or tools of any kind... except a flashlight. Very useful in broad daylight. Do they honestly expect me to explore this world with absolutely nothing? What a bunch of bull.

And you can't search bushes unless you are facing a certain way, apparently. Trying to find thatch was a huge pain, because no matter what direction I looked, it was hard to pinpoint the exact spot I need to look to search for anything. And then there are the controls. There should be a tutorial on the screen telling you how to do certain things you need to do. I always have to keep going to the pause menu to learn how to do stuff. And the worst part is not all of the controls you need to know are there. Which brings me to my next point.

The biggest issue I had was figuring out how to go into my inventory. I looked through the controls list and found nothing. It turns out you have to press "G" to see your inventory. That is not listed in the controls at all, which needs to be fixed. Maybe instructions on how to drop items would be useful. I tried to get rid of a water barrel, but I couldn't. Also, are you serious? 4 inventory slots? Why, dude?

Besides that, I found the game incredibly boring. Having weapons or not wouldn't matter since there weren't any enemies anyway. I saw ONE spider, and that's it. I would have explored more of the world, but I don't know where there could be enemies, so you gotta spawn me in with a weapon first, otherwise, I have no interest in playing your game.

I only got to play the Zombie Castle thing, because it seemed like no one else was playing online. Either that, or I was pushing a wrong button. I'm sure after selecting a character you press A. So I was very confused when I selected a quick match, and then I saw the other three players (or at least, I thought there were players there), and nothing happened after I selected my character.

But besides that, the controls can be a little difficult to figure out, because there doesn't seem to be a tutorial anywhere in the menu. Sure when I played Zombie Castle, they showed controls on the screen, but it wasn't particularly clear about everything. Like when my head came off. I had trouble figuring out how to get my head back on. I eventually found out on my own that it's B, but the game should be explaining the controls a little better. Add a tutorial!

As it is, I can't recommend this game, unless you have friends to play with, I suppose it might be better.

This is REALLY good. I originally played this on Game Jolt, but I was too scared to continue my video, so I ended it before I could get past the first monster. But my laptop broke, so the video is gone. But replaying it was definitely worth it. I managed to complete the chapter.

This is by far the scariest indie horror game I've played since Bendy and the Ink Machine. The sounds have gotten to me a few times, and I was expecting a monster chase in a few places that never happened. This game sure keeps you on your toes. There was a moment when I was too scared to enter the testing room. I just kept stalling for about a minute.

It reminds me a lot of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, actually. I'm pretty sure I heard music in this game that is from there, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I am really glad I decided to play it again, and with a better laptop this time. Shows off them graphics. I'm definitely looking forward to Chapter 2.

I know that this game isn't as good as The Dark Descent, but I still enjoyed it. I find the enemies and sounds effects to be scary. However, it's not quite as interactive as the original. Almost every item you could grab in The Dark Descent you can't in this game. So there are some negative points there.

But I still always panic when I get chased by enemies. And the sound design and the music are still a plus in my book. It's kind of a shame that a lot of reviews I'm seeing are negative simply because it's "nothing like the first game". Okay, sure, it's not like the first game, but I still enjoyed it for what it is. The thing is I don't usually try to compare the two.

Honestly, I say this game is worth a look.

It was a bit laggy, but that's my laptop's fault. But other than that, the difficulty seems to spike up a fair bit within the first 5 levels. Sometimes when I jump on the frogs, it doesn't register as a hit against the enemy, but rather against me.

Control-wise, I can't say I've had a lot of problems, except for some unresponsive controls because of the lag, so I can't blame the game on that one. But when the controls work, I'd say their pretty decent. I mean, I did use a controller.

Overall, I found this game to be pretty generic and boring pretty quickly. The only thing I really like is... well, let's just say foxes are my favorite animal.
