Sometimes, fog doesn’t just cover a place… it hides something that’s been waiting to be found.

Silent Hill f takes us away from the familiar streets and into a quiet, decaying village, one that feels alive in its own way.
It’s the second Silent Hill I’ve played, and after reaching 100%, unlocking every ending and collectible, I can say it left a deep impression on me.

The attention to detail is remarkable: the haunting atmosphere, the melancholic soundtrack, the characters, and above all… the story. There’s something painful and beautiful about it, like memories you wish you could forget, but can’t.
Perhaps that’s no surprise, knowing the scenario was written by 𝘙𝘺𝘶𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘪07, the mind behind 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘊𝘳𝘺. His touch is unmistakable, tragedy wrapped in humanity, horror blooming from emotion.

If I had to point out one flaw, it would be the gameplay. It can feel repetitive at times, like walking in circles through your own thoughts. Still, that repetition somehow fits the theme, being trapped in cycles you can’t escape.

Depending on how much you explore, the game can feel both long and short. My first run took about 9/10 hours, but I lost track of time just wandering, searching every corner, trying to make sense of what I was seeing.

The New Game+ adds even more reasons to return. New cutscenes, new insights… new pain. To truly understand everything, you’ll need to go back at least three or four times.

In the end, I can’t say if I found answers, only more questions.
But that’s Silent Hill, isn’t it?

A volte, la nebbia non copre soltanto un luogo… ma qualcosa che stava aspettando di essere trovato.

Silent Hill f ci porta lontano dalle strade familiari, dentro un villaggio silenzioso e in rovina, ma in qualche modo ancora vivo.
È il secondo Silent Hill che ho giocato e, dopo averlo completato al 100%, con tutti i finali e i collezionabili, posso dire che mi ha davvero colpito.

La cura nei dettagli è straordinaria: l’atmosfera inquietante, la colonna sonora malinconica, i personaggi… e soprattutto la storia.
C’è qualcosa di doloroso e bellissimo in tutto questo, come ricordi che vorresti dimenticare, ma che non riesci a lasciar andare.
Forse non è un caso, visto che la sceneggiatura porta la firma di 𝘙𝘺𝘶𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘪07, autore di 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘊𝘳𝘺. Il suo tocco si sente: tragedie umane raccontate con empatia, orrore che nasce dal dolore e dall’amore.

Se devo trovargli un difetto, direi il gameplay: a volte diventa un po’ ripetitivo, come camminare in cerchio dentro i propri pensieri.
Eppure, in un certo senso, questo si adatta perfettamente al tema, rimanere intrappolati in cicli da cui non puoi sfuggire.

La durata varia molto: alla prima partita, se si va dritti, si può finire in circa 9/10 ore, ma esplorando ogni angolo il tempo perde importanza.

Il New Game+ offre un ottimo motivo per tornare: nuove cutscenes, nuovi dettagli… e nuove ferite.
Per cogliere davvero tutto, va rigiocato almeno tre o quattro volte.

Alla fine, non so se ho trovato delle risposte… solo altre domande.
Ma dopotutto, questo è Silent Hill, no?

Obscure è un survival horror uscito nel 2004/2005 che sorprende ancora oggi per alcune sue idee innovative. Il gioco è chiaramente ispirato ai film horror adolescenziali americani, ma riesce comunque a creare un’atmosfera unica, inquietante e a volte imprevedibile.
Il sistema di gioco a due personaggi (con possibilità di Cooperativa) è uno dei punti forti, così come la gestione della luce con le torce, che aggiunge un livello di tensione costante.
Certo, ci sono elementi che mostrano la sua età: controlli legnosi, qualche bug e un doppiaggio a volte imbarazzante. Ma se accetti il “pacchetto vintage”, Obscure ti regala un’esperienza horror genuina e originale.

In sintesi:
Lo consiglio a chi cerca un horror old-school, magari da giocare anche in compagnia. Dura il giusto, fa paura senza esagerare e ha un fascino tutto suo. Un piccolo cult dimenticato, che merita ancora attenzione.

This is the first Silent Hill game I've played, and I can say that Silent Hill 2 Remake is a game that I enjoyed a lot.
The graphics are spectacular, with some scenes appearing photorealistic thanks to the UE5 (Unreal Engine 5). The story of James Sunderland searching for his wife Mary is deeply emotional and unsettling, making you question reality and mental health. Additionally, I really liked the game's cast; I think Luke Roberts did a great job as James. Kudos for his performance in the role!
In 60 hours of gameplay, I explored every corner and earned all the achievements, experiencing a journey full of horror and satisfaction. The remake adds 2 new endings compared to the original's 6. Silent Hill 2 Remake offers an engaging story and a gameplay experience that sets the standards for the horror genre. Highly recommended.

Questo è il primo Silent Hill che ho giocato e posso dire che Silent Hill 2 Remake è un titolo che mi è piaciuto un sacco.
La grafica è spettacolare, alcuni scenari possono sembrare fotorealistici grazie al motore grafico UE5 (Unreal Engine 5). La storia di James Sunderland alla ricerca di sua moglie Mary è profondamente emozionante e inquietante, facendoti mettere in discussione la realtà e la sanità mentale. Inoltre, mi è piaciuto molto il cast del gioco; penso che Luke Roberts abbia fatto un ottimo lavoro nei panni di James. Complimenti per la sua recitazione nel suo personaggio!
In 60 ore di gioco, ho esplorato ogni angolo e ottenuto tutti gli achievements, vivendo un viaggio pieno di orrore e soddisfazione. Il remake aggiunge 2 nuovi finali rispetto ai 6 classici dell'originale. Silent Hill 2 Remake offre una storia coinvolgente e un'esperienza di gioco che definisce gli standard del genere horror. Consigliatissimo.
