I thought I was finishing a puzzle game.

I wasn’t. I was finishing a story that didn’t want to end.

Monument Valley 3 expands in a quiet, almost generous way. After what feels like a natural conclusion, it opens again — not with hidden levels for difficulty’s sake, but with memories scattered among villagers. Small interactions. Optional fragments. Human moments.

Instead of rewarding speed or completion, it rewards attention.

The memories mechanic transforms the experience. The world doesn’t shrink after the credits — it deepens. It asks you to walk back through spaces not to solve, but to notice. To collect pieces of people. To understand the emotional architecture behind the geometric one.

Mechanically, the puzzles remain elegant — perspective shifts, layered pathways, spatial illusions. But what stands out here isn’t challenge. It’s restraint. The game trusts silence. It trusts the player to slow down.

And when a puzzle game makes you feel like you’re preserving stories rather than solving obstacles — that’s design maturity.

I played slowly. I collected every memory. I stayed longer than necessary.

And that felt intentional.

Just like the other 2 games has a fantastic art style and was pretty fun. But with the third installment it feels like maybe most of the puzzles in this has been done before. Playing all 3 of these games now that they are on steam I had a feeling in a lot of the puzzles that I had solved this already, done this puzzles before and that persisted though out this title.

Is Monument Valley 3 good and beautiful? Yes
Do you need it if you played the other 2 already, maybe not.

Beautiful and brain-bending. Good music too.
