It's more God of War like the previous title, it adds a new weapon and continues the story of Kratos and Atreus, where you see their bond grow stronger through the story. The performance is good, it has plenty of settings to tweak, frame gen, and upscaling features, i was able to run it at native 1440p almost maxed with a 6800XT and a R5 7600X @ 90 fps. The dlc is just a roguelike game mode with minimal story, i didnt bother with it because i don't enjoy those. But if you do it has more content than the first game in the modern series for sure. Grab it when its on sale.

I finished God of War Ragnarök, and now I need emotional recovery.
This game did NOT come to play. It came to test my feelings.
Combat? Clean. Brutal. Satisfying. Throwing the axe still feels illegal. The Blades are pure chaos. Boss fights actually made me sit up like I’m defending my thesis. Gná? The King of the Berserkers? I aged at least five years.
And then there’s the story. Oh, the story.
Kratos and Atreus really said, “Let’s explore generational trauma in 4K.” Their relationship feels way too real. The tension, the silence, the growth - it hits harder than any boss mechanic. And yes, I would absolutely listen to Mimir talk forever. Podcast when?
And if you think the story, the antagonist, or even the side quests can’t surprise you - you’re wrong. This game will surprise you. More than once. Some twists I genuinely did not expect.
Graphics? Unreal.
Music? Emotional manipulation at its finest.
Some moments feel so epic you just sit there like, “Oh. So this is cinema.”
Is it slow sometimes? Sure. Do they talk a lot while climbing? Yes. Yes, they do.
Did I still eat it up? Completely.
This isn’t just a game about gods.
It’s about letting go… and suffering respectfully.
