Controller doesn't work in the Demo?

It's detected, but for whatever reason I can't seem to use it as "Player 1" and navigate menus or play the game with it. I have to use the keyboard to do that?

SCOTT PILGRIM EX LAUNCHES MARCH 3RD 2026!

When we announced Roxie Richter and Lucas Lee’s addition to the Scott Pilgrim EX roster, there was plenty of speculation as to who would be the next characters to jump from the Scott Pilgrim comic pages into the pixelated streets of Toronto!

We hope to make some of you very happy by announcing the next two characters joining the fray in March: Matthew Patel and Robot-01!

🔥Matthew Patel brings theatrical flair and mystic chaos to the battlefield. With a style that blends fire and ritualistic showmanship, Patel manipulates the flow of combat like a puppet master by summoning his demon hipsters to distract enemies, control crowds, and lay traps that can tip the scales in his team’s favor.

🤖Robot-01 is a combat unit built for mayhem rocketing across the screen with thrusters and transformations, delivering brutal blows at blistering speed. This machine morphs mid-battle, fires long-range blasts, and unleashes a powerful strong attack that rains explosive projectiles across the screen, clearing out crowds in a flash.

Watch Patel and Robot-01 clean up the streets of Toronto in the new character reveal & release date trailer:

Members of Toronto’s coolest band, Sex Bob-omb, are kidnapped and their instruments stolen as the city is terrorized by demons, vegans and robots. Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers and their gang of new unlikely allies must bash their way across the city, from its streets to its beaches and even back in time to save the band!

A total of seven playable fighters will be featured, with Scott and Ramona set to gain one final ally ahead of Scott Pilgrim EX’s release!

EX-EVIL EXES COME TOGETHER IN SCOTT PILGRIM EX

Since we announced Scott Pilgrim EX back in June, we’ve loved watching everyone speculate about who the rest of the seven playable characters might be. Well, it wouldn’t be Scott Pilgrim EX if we didn’t bring a few of our favorite exes into the fray, right?

Roxie Richter and Lucas Lee are the first to join Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers as playable characters in this new beat ‘em up brawler coming in 2026!

🎬Lucas takes a break from Hollywood stardom to lay the smack down on any baddies standing in his way, with grappling prowess and a fully-weaponized skateboard (meaning he hits people with it).

🥷Roxie meanwhile brings her signature sword-slicing and dicing into the fray as a quick-hitting, speedy half-ninja, with a kit complete with smoke bombs and moves that turn her into a blender on the battlefield.

Am I alone in my impressions?

I was (and still am) excited that were getting a new Scott Pilgrim game once it was announced. And I still intend to show my support by purchasing the game upon launch. The first game basically hit all the marks for me when it both comes doing justice to the IP, and as a beat 'em up, and I was so happy when it finally came to Steam too.
