Every month, Rebecca Michalski takes a deep breath before opening her electric bill. She lives on a fixed income, and heating her small house this winter has been staggering: Her February charge was $940.08 — more than her check.

Anyone who voted for trump has it coming. There were no credible reasons to believe he would be a good president. Republican policies are all bad.

They believed he’d punish the brown people and the LGBTQ+ community. They’re satisfied with his performance there. Many of them who can afford the cost increases think the higher costs are worth it. They still believe they’re making America better.

I’m not a journalist. I don’t record conversations I have with people IRL. I’ve talked to Trump voters and they believe what he’s doing will pay off in the long run, and that it’s worth it to see immigrants and “the gays” “getting theirs”.

I don’t know how to “cite” that other than to say people have told me that, who unironically support Trump. There’s this whole outside world beyond “links” and “web pages.” We can’t dispute or disregard what our neighbours and coworkers say just because it can’t be linked to.
