what is the difference between these setting?
after a couple weeks use i have to say if you must interact with MFA it is a delicate little dance where davmail successfully authenticates. the only procedure i found that works: launch DavMail launch Thunderbird when DavMail MFA pops up click the title bar as clicking anywhere inside the window locks up immediately interact with MFA it took me a while to realize clicking the title bar solved everything.
nice, pops to the top; unfortunately, locks up when i use it: press checkbox press pull down * press the button to interact with my phone does cause the phone to pop up an approval but once that is acknowledged DavMail locks up in all cases i have to Force Quit.
yes, it does work and i am very grateful for that. is it possible to make the interactive MFA window come to the front? my experience is that while Thunderbird repeatedly requests your password nothing good happens. it wasn't until i pulled up the DavMail logs window did i realize there was this other completely obscured window asking for MFA.
i tried on Mac OS High Sierra with: brew install ant brew cask install java10 and built DavMail-MacOSX-4.9.0-2664-trunk.app.zip. yay! i added to .davmail.properties: davmail.enableOauth2=true then launched DavMail.app and Thunderbird.app. i get a new DavMail window labeled https://or.company.com/IWA/ with: Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.
do you have a nightly build? i installed four different versions of jdk but only java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel-1.8.0.181.b15-0.fc28.x86_64 had the tools.jar ant requires but davmail would not compile. i'm guessing because it is Java < 9.
i created an Application ID for my user account (not Administrator!) using the instructions at https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Evolution/EWS/OAuth2.
evolution-ews requires some custom configuration in Azure Active Directory but is usable on desktop.
i applied this patch and added some logging but could not authenticate to https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx using cookies exported from chromium or firefox. i cleared all cookies before login to OWA.
assumes your organization allows app password; mine does not.
also not working with my organization's email on office365.com. looks like application password is disabled.
