Hi, you can try rsync instead of simple copy. Just like: rsync --info=progress2 -auvz "$inpdir"/* "$outdir"/ where of course you can substitute $inpdir and $outdir according to your needs.
Don't make extra troubles for yourself; just make a .desktop file as suggested above...
Thank you rayzer it seems to be working.
Hi all, After installing new BookWorm Pep, I cannot set my clock synchronizing with ntp. If my mind doesn’t change I had no problems with it using the previous Pep version based on Buster. Trying to switch synchronization from manual to Internet I get answer like: Install and activate ntp service on your system... The ntp is the part of OS, it was installed automatically during setup. After excessive googling I made some modifications. Here is the content of my /etc/ntp.conf Look it on PasteBIN:...

Hi KsWoodsMan, thank you for quick reply. Your solution made the trick. I am happy! Have a nice day!
After installing Peppermint Update Manager the PepHub no more works. The only benefit is the new repos. Error messages you can see here: https://pastebin.com/BnBCRHjb Tried both desktop & virtualbox, same there.

Hi MintSpider & all, FYI: I have to update my solution, because the above mentioned was only like Fata Morgana. The symptom repeated randomly after removing the script too. Finally I came up to solution: it happens when I make a clean start after a previous hibernating and only then. Knowing that fact it is no more annoying for me, I use hibernating rarely and then rearranging is a two second task, especially that I have only five icons on the Desktop - I don't like to litter it.
Hi MintSpider, apologies too that I thought you're pulling my leg. BTW sometimes a little humor doesn't harm any of us...:-) From the first second it was no doubt for me that this is a setting issue, not an OS issue, because the two comps run the same OS version. Finally I found only one difference: on the desktop - and only there!- I begun to play with login/logout sounds. Finally I wrote a bash script, which played sounds with clvlc - the cli interface of VLC. I put my script into autostart. Login...

Thank you Peter, but on my laptop the icons doesn't change their position and on my desktop they change their position. So I can confirm both :-) but I want to force to stay icons on their previous position on the desktop too but no luck. IMHO your suggestion maybe a joke, but I will give it a go (restore them is not a big headache...) and will come back with the information what happened.

Hi all, I've faced with the above problem on my desktop PC but on my laptop the icon's aren't rearranged. I cannot find the difference in settings and I want to avoid rearranging. Any idea? Peppemint OS 11
