Thank you, Dominik. The KeepassXC's wayland discussion is also progressing. For example, they mentioned the 'foreign-toplevel-list' extension which might (?) answer the question posited on your documentation page (getting the title of the currently active window). Overall, the integration story of Keepass remains considerably better, but so far I've found how to fix or work around (shrug) the few blockers I had encountered with KeepassXC-Browser (the Firefox extension), so I suppose I'm staying with...

Thank you, I'm testing it now. No scaling problems, at least. Auto-type doesn't work for me, though, because I'm also migrating to Wayland, and the latest Firefox is wayland-native now, so the auto-type functionality is not working in it (and is not planned to).

John, thank you, I've been looking at KeePassXC, but haven't tested it yet. My concerns were keeping the database format compatible (to be able to switch back in case anything happens -- like the development stops, for example), and for the browser extension (for Firefox) to be at least as functional as Kee (formerly Keefox). Aside from its own cloud storage, perhaps.

Unfortunately, I'm using the current latest release of Ubuntu, along with its video drivers and its version of Mono: https://packages.ubuntu.com/source/mantic/mono I've also tried upgrading to Mono from the "preview" PPA (6.12.0.200-0xamarin2+ubuntu2004b1) just now. No change in behavior.

My guess is that there's a problem in Mono that occurs on your system Do you recommend using the .NET runtime from Microsoft instead? I've now installed dotnet-sdk (which includes the runtime) according to instructions here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/install/linux-ubuntu-2210 But running dotnet KeePass.exe & results in an error: A fatal error was encountered. The library 'libhostpolicy.so' required to execute the application was not found in '.../KeePass/'. Failed to run as a...

Here's an additional detail: I'm using a laptop with an external screen (the internal one is usually disabled). Both screens have the same resolution (3840x2160), but the internal screen is obviously smaller physically.

It could be that Ubuntu is at fault (but then it's still the most popular Linux distro, so shouldn't the developer try to cater to it?), or it could be that the old version which I had installed at the time worked better. Or that KeePass only picks up one of the scaling hints which was used back then, but not in the modern GNOME desktop. Does anybody else here use Linux with HiDPI screens to confirm any of the explanations?

Long story short, the window is too small, and the fonts are too small as well (by about 2x). I'm using Ubuntu 23.10 right now (Mono version 6.8.0.105+dfsg-3.4), with GNOME 45.1. This was a problem with 22.10 and 23.04 also. I think this actually worked fine in some earlier version (in 22.04, probably). My configured desktop scaling factor is 200%, which works for every app, but not KeePass. I've tried changing this using different ways: e.g. environment vars like GTK_SCALE or MONO_MWF_SCALING, or...
