You might get an idea of whether or not you're going to like Pearl Desktop 8 based on whether you like MacOS or are a member of Qanon. Both of those are pertinent. If you love Alex Jones and your iMac, you're set for life here. If not, you may need to delete the link to prophetic-news.com in your browser and plugins for Qanon and Infowars in your Kodi (which comes pre-installed). But this is one sweet system. Based on Ubuntu 19.04, with a hybrid desktop mixed from XFCE and LXDE with lots of Compiz Fusion mixed in, you'll find your biggest problem will be updates -- there are very few mirrors, and they are down quite a bit of the time. (I do have a friend who hosts official mirrors for several distros and has offered to host a Pearl mirror, but has not heard back yet.) The music at bootup is loud and surprising, but beautiful. The wallpapers are retina-blowingly lovely. The layout even has some icons copied from MacOS (hopefully nobody issues a cease-and-desist notice soon). If any of this sounds good to you, you should try Pearl Desktop 8. It may surprise you.
