i test more then 20 different app like this, but this is best of them, its better then most expensive apps. easy to use, i suggest to use it wiith fast nvme disks.

AnyTXT Searcher ist ein hervorragendes Tool. Es hilft mir bei der Textsuche außerordentlich, da ich viele Bücher und Schriftstücke oft nach relevanten Begriffen durchsuchen muss. Ich bin nicht sicher, ob die OCR-Funktion auch gebrochene Schriften (Fraktur, Alt-Deutsch) mit großer Genauigkeit findet. Es wäre für mich gut, wenn diese Funktion eingeschaltet wäre. Gut finde ich die Sortiermöglichkeiten in der Ergebnisliste, da ich dort nicht nur nach Dateinamen, sondern auch nach Änderungsdatum geordnete Listen erhalte und damit auf die Bearbeitungstermine besser zurückgreifen kann. Das Programm erfüllt alle meine Erwartungen. Bezüglich des Designs wäre mir eine etwas auffälligere Anzeige der Aktivitäten (Scan läuft bzw. Scan abgeschlossen) willkommen. Das ist aber keine wichtige Funktion, da man auf jeden Fall den Zustand erkennen kann.

I love this software. My main problem is that it refuses to index files in my c drive. What do I do? I have a bunch of files there. If they are not indexed it is going to be a problem. Please help

Very bad! A month later, he began to extort money, turned off the search. Complete deception! They pay likes and make them advertise their program. They don't answer on Facebook, support is hiding. I do not recommend, because at a crucial moment it can greatly upset.

But the author refuse to be honest about what is triggering this limitation. I mounted a drive at letter P:, then this message appeared and blurred out my previews, making it a lot less useful (ofcourse i cracked it by opening the config.db in a DB viewer and deleted the Runtime record, but that is another story).  Hopefully yhe author will tell us the truth what the limits are. Because it says this program is "freeware" all over the web, but in fact you have to pay for it after a while, making it a Trialware! Kind Regards

I just recently discovered this gem, and it's been a great must-have so far. Once things are indexed, results of word searches is almost instantaneous. As with many SourceForge offerings, the documentation is quite limited, though most of its operations and features are fairly intuitive. OCR was recently added in Beta, but it is unclear to me how, or if, it works. My assumption was that it would detect text in image files, and then scan and catalog the text -- a tall order, indeed -- but this has not happened. So some clarity about this would be helpful. Since at this point I consider this feature as more of an extra, and especially since it's Beta, it doesn't weight my rating negatively. Many thanks for the effort in producing this wonderful tool.

This is a good replacement for Google Desktop. It handles larger datasets than Google's tool did. There are still a few open issues but the developer is responsive and is actively developing the application. Recommended.
