Requirements: 1. Requires Java 1.7 or later 2. Can be used with any winboard compliant interface 3. I suggest using this with Arena 3.0 Installation Instructions: 1. Download Arena 3.0 from the arena website and install it 2. Unzip ChessNoviceR0.02.zip 3. Launch Arena 4. Go to Engines-->Install New Engine 5. Browse and select ChessNoviceR0.02.bat Playing a game: 1. Goto Engines-->Load Engine 2. Select Engine1 radio button and the Engine you want to play with and click Ok. 3. Goto Levels-->Adjust and select "Time per move" radio button. Type in 47 seconds and click ok 4. Goto File-->New Rated Game and then choose the color to play. With this setup you should be play a 45 second/move game with ChessNovice Notes: - More time controls will be added later. If you are beginner or intermediate player you will find this engine tough to beat. - The engine plays the end game phase very badly. - If you face issues loading the engine try removing all versions of java and then installing the latest 1.7.x version.
