Bug 1840607 has been fixed in /trunk. I'm not doing a special release for just this bugfix, but you can get it by fetching latest from SVN.
The first screenshot of the version 2.0 user interface has been posted. Cruise on over to the project Wiki page to check it out.
The server hosting our project web is experiencing an outage. We hope to have it back online later today.
Note that this does not affect the releases / downloads, wiki, forums or SVN, all of which are hosted here on SourceForge.net.
Added option to forgo the override of the entity's .ToString() method.
Today's release takes care of a couple bugs relating to the inferences the SqlInterrogator makes about entity properties. Specifically, the MaxAttributeLength for XML serialization was being ignored, and by default, the stored procedure writer would try to include primary keys in its INSERT and UPDATE statements.
We published a minor bugfix release of V1 this morning, fixing a bug where the data access & stored procedure files would still get saved to the original output directory even if you changed directories in the Create Class dialog, plus added missing code back to the File -> Exit menu command.
Work on the 2.0 interface may slow down the release cycle on V1 a bit, but hopefully you'll find it worth the wait. Meanwhile, feel free to submit bug reports and help requests here on the SF.net forums.
A more Visual Studio like interface is coming to StormFactory. It will be some time before a first release, but the work-in-progress is in SVN under /branches/2.0. The organizing principle for the new interface is a solution/project model so that the settings for entire entity domains can be saved & projects regenerated using those same settings. There will also be a wizard, which should be better for introducing the tool to new users.
For everyone trying to decipher StormFactory's UI, development pattern, or generated output, help is on its way! We're adding a series of HowTo & Quickstart articles. Use the Wiki link to pop on over and peruse them.
Today was the first alpha source release (00010) of StormFactory to SourceForge.net.
At this time, we are choosing to release as source only, no binaries. Due to the nature of this tool, we don't expect this to inconvenience our target audience.
