E-MU OS 2.26. P2K is not being found by software
patch editor for the E-MU Proteus 2000 synthesizer family

Just curious if prodatum 2.1 works with the last E-MU OS 2.26 as I have been unable to successfully connect to my Proteus 2000. This is my first attempt at using this software so maybe I'm making another mistake? The ports on my MOTU light are visible in the software, and the P2K is hooked directly up to to it with all midi ports open / active. Any suggestions or maybe a downloadable manual?
Thanks so much!

Did you select the ports (you said they are visible, but did you actually select the ports your p2k is connected to)? Because that is usually all you have to do. :)
There is only http://prodatum.sourceforge.net/doc/manual.html

Thanks so much for getting back to me! I'm really excited to get the software working!
So to confirm, it is compatible with E-MU OS 2.26!?
As for Midi setup, I actually wired the P2K directly to my Motu micro lite to bypass any cabling / setup issues. The "open" button in the "Open device" window remains greyed out no matter what I do, although Prodatum can see the Motu ports.
(I'm operating on the A side of the Midi ports on my P2K, with a system ID of 001, which I also specified in the "Open device" window. My P2K is set to receive and transmit midi data - omni mode. I must be missing something. Hmmm.
Thanks for your help!

Yeah, 2.26 is well supported.
What OSX version do you run? I have compiled prodatum on OSX Snow Leopard (10.6) and did (could) not test it on newer versions. Chances are prodatum is incompatible with the most recent versions of OSX. Apple likes to throw out new OS's that look a little different and do the same (just slower 'cuz of useless bloat). Also they don't care much about backward compatibility.
Until I have access to some 'current' OSX that I can use to compile (if ever) your best bet is to either downgrade OSX (I don't know which version is both compatible and most recent), try to find a solution for the MIDI incompatibility changes Apple did in recent OSX updates or compile prodatum yourself.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Let me know if theres an easy fix or if you compiled prodatum (I am interested in a copy of the binary).

I just found out what the connection problem was to my p2k! Bad port on my Micro Lite! I assumed it was working correctly because the panel lights were going, but when I switched the cables over to my Micro Express... suddenly everything started working! So, that answers all my questions! I was able to use the software for a bit, then it crashed so I may have other issues to ask you about, but the connection problem was completely midi hardware related!!!
By the way... I just updated to Mac O.S. Yosemite. I have never tried to compile software, but I could give it a shot. Is there a recommended compiler software for Mac?
Thanks for all your help on this!
Its not that just installing Xcode will do the trick. Its quite an involved process. There is a README in the source directory that explains all you need to do.
