#14 Feature request: Change of asset location via GUI

I would like to suggest adding the ability to choose a custom location for the assets, i.e. the map, contour lines and the Wikipedia files via the GUI. Perhaps place the option within the download window where the various files are selected prior to download. The reason for this is I have a small hard drive for the operating system files (using Manjaro Linux here) so I would like to store these large files on a second SSD preferably.

    Hi, on Linux, nothing is easier than that. Just move all ~/.OffRoad folder to your SSD and set a symbolic link to it using ln -s /path/to/ssd/.OffRoad ~/.OffRoad

      Thanks. I got that working and it'll certainly be useful for some other applications too. Bit new to Linux so still learning : )

      What is the best way to do this in Windows? If my larger local drive is letter D: can you suggest a good line to insert into the OffRoad.cmd batch file?

        Sorry for the late reply, but adding
        -Duser.home=
        in OffRoad.cmd with the path should work for Windows

          Hello Reimar
          I suppose "-Duser.home=" is valid for Linux.
          But I have no idea where that line should be inserted.
          I would also like to make use of that feature.

          As regards ticket #21 (my own) I can report that OffRoad no starts
          normally under Manjaro Linux but I have not tested all the features yet.
