I have been struggling, trying to get Mondo 1.75 and Minidi 0.95 to create a bootable dvd for Linux 2.6. Mondoarchive happily creates an iso, which I can burn to the DVD with growisofs. The dvd mounts fine, and I see everything there. When I boot the dvd however, the first boot step succeeds, and I get to the boot: prompt. After I enter a command (i.e. interactive, expert, etc.), the next boot sequence seems to find the linux kernel and starts to boot it. A lot of diagnostics go flying by. I can see that the scsi disks are found. Eventually it halts though, complaining that it can't mount the cdrom, and telling me to use floppies. Unfortunatly, since it is a video monitor, I can't see all of the diagnostics that are produced during the boot sequence. At this point the screen is full of verbiage relating to creating boot floppies, so I don't have info on why the boot failed. There nmay be some previous useful info, but I don't know how to capture it. I did have a working, bootable DVD mondoarchive for a Linux 2.4.23 system, produced on the exact same hardware. This was with the stable versions of Mondo and Mindi. I'd be happy to contribute to the testing and debugging for 2.6, if there is anything I can do.
