You might also like to try this to verify that msys.bat is run with the correct current directory: cd / cmd //c cd It should output something like c:\msys\1.0 BTW, you can easily work around this by making a copy of the shortcut you normally use to start MSYS, then modify it by adding the parameter "MSYS" after "msys.bat ".
