Maybe a paradigm-switch here too :) But we only need 2 colors (or 3 if we want to make crosses red). This first because when only showing ratings (like in the contenders list) the user is not supposed to be able to change them... Secondly because in the bar in which the user can vote, we show the average vote separately from the user's vote... Showing is just 2 colors, but because the user-vote is just the vote by the user, it can be grey before he voted, and colored when he mouses over & is done... (possibly when mouse-overing his vote it can change again if we want to allow vote-changes...) 3-colors are only custom for when the stars are display of average and thing to vote with at the same time...
