Is there a way to generate key like
"[auth-auth]"?

Right now only [auth.auth.ea] is available. THis is
inconvenient because "." conflicts with windows file
naming convenention when one tries to use the bibkey to
name the linked pdf files.

Also, since google now offers bibtex citation
downloads. Can JabRef add google scholar search?

Is [auth]-[auth99_2] what you are looking for? Beware that the dash "-" is not in the list of characters to be removed (Preferences -> Citation key generator -> Remove the follwing character).
