Did you consult the hardware compatibility list before installing :P http://ipcop.org/modules.php?op=3Dmodload&name=3DphpWiki&file=3Dindex&pagen= ame=3DIPCopHCLv01 i didn't see the ovislink on there, and i did a search at ipcops forum to see if anyone had made a driver for it and i didn't come up with anything. so you might have to install DEV version on another pc and build your own from there. you can find the instructions on how to do that here http://ipcop.org/modules.php?op=3Dmodload&name=3DphpWiki&file=3Dindex&pagen= ame=3DIPCopBuildingHowto someone else might have a better idea though, or even have the driver already build. :) On 3/31/07, gm...@sg... <gm...@sg...> wrote: > > Hello, there... > > First time installing IPCop after reading all the official available > documentation.... > > The cards I have weren't auto-recognized (IPCop 1.4.15) > > The NICs provide a linux driver for 2.2 and 2.4 kernels in its drivers' > CDROM. > It's a OvisLink GE-2032R NIC > This google search > <http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=3D149519> show= s > the driver seems to be RealTek compatible... but trying to load the > RealTek > RTL-8139C+ series 10/100 PCI Ethernet driver on IPCop installation won't > success. > > May I have to compile the driver in another linux box and then try to loa= d > it using a floppy drive during IPCop installation?? > > What do you suggest..? > > Best regards, > Gabriel > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- > mail2web LIVE =96 Free email based on Microsoft(r) Exchange technology - > http://link.mail2web.com/LIVE > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Take Surveys. Perhaps this is the wrong place to post. If you can use voxalot.com then I know that works with a Billion 6404VP behind IPCop with no adjustments to port forwarding or anything like that. More info on Voxalot and VSP options here: http://www.affinityvision.com.au/voip-notes-detailed.html - NB: it is a works in progress page, but it is somewhat useful already. Hi all: I'm just new to the list, not to IPCop. I have a question please, we have running a VPN tunnel to a CheckPoint1 FW, and it runs ok while it's up, but it timeouts way too often. Have anyone experienced this with the pair IPCop-CheckPoint1 before? (we upgraded to 1.4.15 last week after months and months on 1.4.10, the issue has been there since day 1 on 1.4.10 an is still still there now) Please let me know how you fixed it. Or is there a script I can install and schedule to bring the connection up every few minutes if it's gone down , or what are my options? Any help is greatly appreciated, Carlos LSL New Zealand |

I was unaware that a PCI card with an adsl modem on it existed. Ideally, such a PCI modem card would be in the IPcop box, but from the specification of the card on the web it requires some form of windows to operate. This seems to me to rule out the idea of putting the card in the IPcop box? Brian |

You are not alone Ernie. has happened to me twice. I have had the same thing since upgrading to 1.4.15 from 1.4.12. in fact this version seems more unstable. I lose the admin page and find it often will not re-initialize. Re-booting does not work for me. i need to re-install the network card each time. Anyone have any ideas? peter richards _________________________________________________________________ Its tax season, make sure to follow these few simple tips http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Taxes/PreparationTips/PreparationTips.aspx?icid=HMMartagline |

This is not built-in to IPCop yet. You might be able to add it manually based

As stated in my original post: >The cursor hits the end of the input field and stops before all the >necessary information is entered. In other words, the install program won't let me type in enough characters to enter data for all four NICs. (And unless the program is psychic, I don't see how it can know what I'm going to type and refuse to let me enter it.) Again, IPCop installs successfully with any combination of three of the four NICs. FTR, all NICs are jumpered, and there are no resource conflicts with the BIOS or between the cards. I sorted that out before I isolated the install program limitation. -- Jon |

I think it would be great if it were integrated into IPCop, so that there could be a central location to install and manage addons. Gallery (http://gallery.menalto.com/) has this functionality and it makes it much easier to manage different addons. Menachem |

Yes, the RED interface can be "aliased", but he is looking for two = "internet connections" not two "IP addresses", as I understand it. That requires two NIC's or = other interface to be used. For many years I had a Zoom modem which worked very well, running for many weeks at a time and very rarely requiring a re-boot. Eventually the Zoom stopped working and I ordered a DLink modem (already having a DLink switch which has been on for a very long time). When the DLink modem arrived it was defective, and rather than having it replaced I ordered a NetGear modem (DM 111P). Unfortunately this modem has been very poor, barely lasting a day without requiring a re-boot, and I fear that I shall have to replace it. Any suggestions for a reliable modem would be appreciated. (The reason why I did not go back to a Zoom modem was that one was not then available. One is now available (ADSL 2/2+ bridge modem 5615) and this is the one that I am considering.) Kindest regards to all - especially the IP-cop team. Brian |

I have a weird problem that is fairly consistent. My orange network contains one device -- a Grandstream ATA. Usually, 2-3 times a month it will lose registration with my SIP providers (it's a two-line ATA). The first few times this happened, I thought it was the device so I would do a hard reboot (power cycle). But neither account would re-register. On a whim, I re-booted IPcop and both SIP account registered as soon as IPcop finished the boot process. I don't lose complete connectivity because I can still access the web configuration. But the ATA cannot communicate with the outside world which leads me to believe that routing stops from Orange to Red (as I stated, Green to Orange appears okay). I've now set IPcop to reboot twice a week but that seems like hitting an ant with a sledgehammer. Any other suggestion to determine cause/fix? Hello, I have a "Franken-box" cobbled together out of many old parts, including 4 ISA NE2000 NIC clones (Genius-Kye). [Why? Because I could. :-) And to have a box to experiment on without messing up my DSL connection which flows through IPCop 1.4.15 running on a 1 GHz Compaq box.] The thing is, I can't install IPCop 1.4.15 with all four NICs. When performing a manual install of the "ne" NICs as per the Web site instructions, the text box simply won't accept the "irq" and "io" settings for all four NICs, just three. The cursor hits the end of the input field and stops before all the necessary information is entered. [Could this be an artifact of pre-Blue Zone days?] Adding the fourth "ne" NIC after the first three are installed doesn't work. All NICs function, and any combination of three of the four NICs will install: (1, 2, 3), (1, 2, 4), (1, 3, 4), & (2, 3, 4). Any chance of fixing this snag in a near-future release? Thanks. |
