Open Console, click on Log Reports, and look for Meteorologist.log. If not there, look in the Preferences for Meteorologist for an option called Log Messages to console.

I deleted the prefs files in Preferences because, I can't edit anything since the app crashes right after launch. Now, the menu bar icon doesn't even appear when I try to launch it because it crashes. I checked the Containers folder in ~/Library, deleted one folder that had the com.heat.meteorologist but I'm running out of ideas and options. Here is the latest crashlog: https://pastebin.com/RjM4hMpm

1) Make sure Meteo is not running. Open Activity Monitor and look for both Meteorologist and also a blank name. Not sure why but sometime Meteorologist has no name listed. You'll should see the icon. Since it's crashing all the time, I'm guessing nothing will be there but it doesn't hurt to check, especially for the blank name.
2) Open Terminal and issue the following command: killall -u $USER cfprefsd This removes any trace of the Meteorologist preferences stored in member.
3) Delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.heat.Meteorologist.plist
4) Reboot
5) Re-launch Meteorologist.
6) If it still crashes, send the file: ~/Library/Logs/Meteorologist.log

Sorry I am unable to help. I see you are running /Applications/Meteorologist, 3.5.2 the latest version, you are on macOS 13.2.1 (current), you are processing using Visual Crossing as the weather source, you are on the main thread (there is only 1).
I don't see the specific statement or variable that is failing.
I see you are Nemesys Software (perhaps http://www.nemesys-soft.com ?). Since the source is open, perhaps you could download the source and run in Xcode to see if the debugger can provide a better idea of what is going wrong?

Weird. So, I downloaded the lastest from the trunk. Built and ran from Xcode. No crash, worked as expected. So, I did another private build for my Mac and it's been running fine. I was able to add a few cities and change some preferences. No problem. Go figure...

The original code? I didn't make any change. I'm running what appears to be version 3.5.2. I didn't have svn installed so I just downloaded the whole trunk from one of the link here on sourceforge. From there, I just opened the project in Xcode, changed the developer team and ran it.

For the last couple of days, Meteorologists is crashing shortly after being opened. I tried to find a crash report but didn't find any.
I'm having the same issue: app crashes immediately upon trying to launch. Seems to have started after upgrading to macOS 13.3.1. Same issue on both my iMac and Macbook Pro. I attempted to follow the troubleshooting steps above with no joy. Log attached.
It doesn't show in your log. Were you using Dark Sky by chance? If so, we may have to try a nuke and pave. Open Finder, click on the Go menu, hold down the Option key click on Library, then Preferences the look for com.heat.meteorologist,plist and delete the file. Restart and try again. You'll need to re-enter your cities.
Nemesys and I were not able to figure out the root cause. :(

Is anybody looking into this? Do you need something else from me?
I thought I posted a response, but I don't see it now. Sorry.
Looks like you have Dark Sky active. Apple dropped support for Dark Sky. Switch to Visual Crossing.
I don't know why Dark Sky isn't working for a few, but Apple is having problems with their own WeatherKit so it could be related.

Try this in the following order:
1) Make sure Meteo is not running. Open Activity Monitor and look for both Meteorologist and also a blank name. Not sure why but sometime Meteorologist has no name listed. You'll should see the icon. 6) If it still crashes, send the file: ~/Library/Logs/Meteorologist.log

Yes, I'm Nemesys Software. I'm going to give it a shot to run in Xcode.

Makes perfect sense (not!). Can you go back and run the original code?
Ed
The original code? I didn't make any change. I'm running what appears to be version 3.5.2. I didn't have svn installed so I just downloaded the whole trunk from one of the link here on sourceforge. From there, I just opened the project in Xcode, changed the developer team and ran it.
Sorry, I mean the original copy in your Applications folder.
I replaced my built version with the version from sourceforge.net. Doesn't crash anymore. Definitely related to one of the city, possibly DarkSky...
Yep, sure enough! Replaced my version with the one found at sourceforge.net and the app works again!

Strange - I can see my logs attached to my original post.
And yes, I already attempted to delete my preferenes with no luck.
Thanks to both of you. The plot thickens on how the app got corrputed, but it's better to be resolved.
ed
me too. crashes immediately. v 3.5.3. OS 12.6.5
Metropical - your log shows you at least made it into Meteorologist, Marshall didn't even get that far.
Try to delete the app and re-download. That worked for both Nemesys and Marshall.
Ed
thanks. EdwarD20. I uninstalled, Ran DU and tried again. So far so good.
