I am sending out this e-mail because Chris Richardson, Rick Marshall and Dave Whitten are all out of the office this week and time is short. The next meeting of the working group for porting VistA to GT.M (including operations) will take place in Los Angeles on either side of OSHCA 2002, the meeting of the Open Source Health Care Alliance (http://www.oshca.org). OSHCA 2002 will be held at the UCLA Medical Center November 14-16, 2002. Since VistA is without doubt the world's premier open source healthcare software, and OSHCA has an international membership, we hope to demonstrate it at OSHCA 2002 to attendees from around the world. So, the working group meetings will be split into a first day preceding OSHCA 2002, on Wednesday, November 13, whose focus will be to refine our demonstrations, and two regular working days, on Sunday and Monday, November 17 and 18. If you don't plan on attending the conference, and can't make both halves of the meeting, please try to come for the working days on November 17 & 18. OSHCA 2002 requires registration (http://www.openparadigms.com/oshca2002/Registration%20Instructions), and there is a fee involved. In keeping with the tradition of the MDC from which the working group emerged, its meeting is free and open to all who wish to participate and contribute. Also in keeping with the tradition of the working group, at least prior to the last meeting, this meeting will simply be known as the 2002 Los Angeles meeting. Thanks are due to Joseph Dal Molin of OSHCA, and to UCLA, who are arranging access to the meeting space. I am sure that Joseph would appreciate an RSVP as soon as convenient so that he has an approximate headcount. I hope we can meet in Los Angeles next month.
