Version 3.6.3 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

It fixes a minor regression introduced in version 3.6.2.
It also includes updated Finnish, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish translations.

Version 3.6.2 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

It includes improvements to the recently added Full Disk Access permission check.
The check did not work on all versions of macOS, but hopefully that is resolved now.

This new version checks on start-up if Full Disk Access has been granted, and if not, prompts the user to do so.

It includes a new display option to only show folders (instead of files).

It contains minor improvements and fixes related to the recently added display focus functionality.

It improves default settings for various preferences and changes how palettes in the Display panel are ordered; they are now sorted by palette size.

It also includes translation updates for nearly all localizations.

Version 3.4 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

It includes a revamped toolbar. The previous toolbar was introduced in 2008 and funky at the time, but meanwhile a bit dated. It's been replaced by a toolbar using the more modern system symbols.

All toolbar actions are now also available from the main menu, to comply with the guidelines in this area. This also lets you change the display focus while the selection is locked.... read more

Version 3.3 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

It adds one new feature: the ability to change the display focus.

It also includes various fixes.
It fixes some problems with refreshing views that could cause hangs or crashes.
It also fixes several cosmetic issues in the user interface.

Version 3.2 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

The scanning logic has been completely revamped and is significantly faster.
The actual speed up depends on the type of volume that is scanned and its contents, but scanning can be twice as fast.
Thanks to Max Mueggler for suggesting these changes.

Version 3.1.1 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

It mainly includes updates for the majority of supported localizations: German, Finnish, French, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish.
All localizations except Portuguese and Chinese (Simplified) are up to date again.

Version 3.1.0 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

This version improves support for cloud storage:

• a "no cloud files" filter is added,
• it is possible to apply this filter (or other filters) by default, and
• there is now help on how to scan cloud storage.

Source code has also been updated; the recommended deployment target is now macOS 10.14.6.

It fixes a single bug. It was not possible to load scan data files larger than 4 GB. Now it is.

Most notably, this new version includes the ability to quickly refresh a view. This functionality is very similar to re-scan but is much faster; refresh only re-scans the contents of folders that have changed since the previous scan. It includes various fixes and one minor improvement: the progress panel shows the folders where it spends significant time.

Right on the heels of Version 2.6.1 this new version fixes the only known issue in the previous release. The unwanted black pixels during the zoom-in animation are now gone.

It features some useful eye candy. Changes to the tree-map view are now animated when you zoom in or out and when you change focus. This not only looks pretty, but also helps you to track what is happening. It also includes some minor other improvements.

The main new feature is keyboard navigation. You can now move around in the tree map using your arrow keys.
