Hello All, After a lot of work and some preliminary testing, I feel that cacti version 0.8 is ready for some more exposure. Beginning today, my development box will begin putting together nightly releases. You can check them out on the raXnet page: http://www.raxnet.net/downloads/beta/ I guarantee there will be bugs, so when you find them please report them using Bugzilla: http://bugzilla.raxnet.net/ When reporting bugs, make sure that they are descriptive and relevant. I will do my best to address them as they come in. I do not have a 0.8-specific install document made up yet, but installation is quite simple. Just untar, import 'cacti.sql', and edit 'include/config.php' to reflect your new database. After pointing your browser to the new installation you will get the opportunity to either create a fresh install or upgrade a 0.6.8 install. The 0.6.8 to 0.8 conversion tool should work in most cases, but is by no means perfect, it should not touch your current 0.6.8 database in any way though. To save this question from arising, the script output syntax has changed for scripts that output more than one piece of data. So if you have created such scripts, you must update them or they will not work correctly with 0.8. Check 'scripts/loadavg_multi.pl' for an example of exactly what it should look like. Please keep in mind that this is very much pre-beta software. I am putting this out there to hopefully speed up the bug squashing process. I do not recommend using this as your primary cacti install as the database structure is prone to change on a nightly basis in which case you will have to drop and re-create your local copy. Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help test. -Ian |
