3:2 pulldown framerate conversion: 29.97/30 fps to 24 fps
An enhanced version of the original VirtualDub

Hello,
I'm wondering if Virtual Dub 2 can handle a 3:2 pulldown framerate conversion: 29.97/30 fps to 24 fps, also known as a "reverse telecine". Does anyone have experience successfully doing this with AVI as the source file format?
Thanks,
Stuart

Not directly with Virtual Dub2 (or older), but with AviSynth+ (and VapourSynth which I haven't used much) there are both plugins (Telecide/Decomb, NNEDI3) and core filters that'll let you get the original 24fps frames out of telecined material.
Maybe I wrong but go try here:
Video, Frame, Frame rate conversion, Convert to fps, set 24/23.976 or what you like/want...
& by info, it seems that VD still does not manage videos with a variable fps...
IVTC filter handles 2:3 pulldown removal just fine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DneoPwa5faY
