I have just released a new version of the embeddable telnetd. This release is telnetd2 (which is Java 2 dependent) reflects user needs with regards to logging (commons-logging/log4j) and deprecations.

After a long time without any activity we release a refactored codebase with some new features.
Highlights are probably the LINEMODE support, multiple Listeners and last but not least the documentation.

I have placed a preliminary bugfix release
on the anonymous ftp server.
A Zip distribution is available too. This
distribution will be more friendly for users
of non-unix-flavor operating systems.

An updated buildfile is available via anonymous ftp.
The update addresses following issues:
- corrections for plattform independence
- target dist added, for building the gzipped tarball distribution

Today (31/05/00) the first official beta release of the TelnetD is out.
