"Easy to use yet extremely powerful"

    Posted 2020-10-27

Pros: I am not a designer, but I still use Sketch every single week. I work in digital marketing so I'm constantly manipulating files, mocking up projects, and a whole lot more. This is the most intuitive design software I have ever used. I was not trained in this, I just picked it up at my last job once my designer quit and I needed to complete a project.

    -easy to learn
    -extremely powerful
    -easy to stay organized

Cons: This software is primarily useful for illustrations. If you find yourself needing to edit photographs or add filters, you will want something like photoshop.

Overall: I love Sketch and I couldn't live without it. If you spend the time to get comfortable with sketch you will never need to wait for a designer to do the initial legwork for you. I think every marketer should know how to use Sketch so they can create ads, websites, flyers etc without having to hand their work off to someone else. There will always be a place for quality designers, but when you need to move fast you should know how to use sketch yourself and it will take you very far.

"Best for designing anything related to screens"

    Posted 2020-06-17

Pros: - This software is build around the use case of building for screens like websites, apps etc. A lot of the options and tools make it so easy to quickly import export and work on vector graphics much faster.

Cons: - Not very suitable for collaborative work as it has not cloud based interface.

Overall: If you do not need much image and color editing and mostly need to work with vectors and text for building your website or any other interface, you are much better working on sketch than some tool like photoshop.
