Anyone searching for an instant word expansion and macro recorder software that helps create and edit shortcuts

About FastFox

FastFox is a text expander software used to insert your most commonly used text quickly and easily. Expand phrases, paragraphs, documents, images, and more. To add a new text shortcut in FastFox, enter both the shortcut keys and the text the shortcut will expand to. With FastFox running, simply type your shortcut and it will automatically expand to your saved text. Since FastFox runs in the background, shortcuts can be used in any program including word processors and email. Text expander software is ideal for anyone who types the same text repeatedly, improving typing speed and productivity by providing easy access to regularly used text using abbreviations or other text shortcuts. FastFox learns your most commonly typed phrases and suggests them to you as you type, so you can select and insert text on the fly. Bring the power of autocomplete to all your typing.

"FastFox is OK, but has limitations"

    Posted 2025-08-14

Pros: Easy to learn, easy to use. What more do I need to say. The fact that I have to write a minimum 100 character overall evaluation is a disincentive to use this platform.

Cons: Limited # of abbreviations to ~999. My office needs more, so worked around by deleting some less frequently used ones. No way to buy or create a larger database of abbreviations.

Overall: 4 out of 5. Anyway, the product does what I need it to do, can be learned by people with a high school education and no coding skills needed. So from that respect it is perfect. But it is limited to only 999 abbreviations, which is nowhere disclosed in the documentation. Hence grade reduced to 4/5.
