"Basic yet Efficient version control tool" Posted 2022-04-01
Pros: Very simple to use.
Quick and easy setup.
Excellent plugins available for integration with IDE's like Eclipse.
Requires little maintenance.
Free.Cons: Interface has become outdated (especially in 2022).
Conflict resolutions need to be done manually.
Git is a better alternative for most cases.Overall: I have used Subversion almost daily for years. It is very simple to use and efficient at what it does. But git completely outshines it with the desktop interface software and useful features like automatic merge resolution.

"The easiest to use version control system" Posted 2020-06-22
Pros: - SVN, unlike Git, is relatively easier to pick up and yet has better features than something like CVS.
Cons: - The updates that SVN receives can really screw up things sometimes.
Overall: I think any tech company needs a good version control system to be able to function properly without the fear of losing code and progress. SVN does a great job and that too for free.
