"Great software" Posted 2025-06-04
Pros: I used AutoCAD and DriftSight prior to ACTCAD. It was easy to learn the interface and transition over. The pdf converter is by far the best I've worked with. ACTCAD has all the good features of AutoCAD and DraftSight and none of the bad.
Cons: I don't have any to list. So far, his software has excelled in every aspect for me.
Overall: Super easy to move from AutoCAD and DraftSight to ACTCAD. A lot of the commands and buttons are the same. I love the pdf converter. It will convert a pdf image to vectors that you can actually work with. I have not had a single conversion display a million lines outlining a ray or alphabetical character. ACTCAD pdf converter has save me a lot of time and spared me from a billion headaches.

"Great Value CAD program" Posted 2023-05-20
Pros: For many years I have used professional CAD program which I have also used to prepare my personal drawings (Car Wiring / model railway / house extension) With retirement, I needed a decent CAD program that I could purchase outright instead of paying an annual (expensive) licence fee.
ActCAD has met all my requirements & enabled me to continue updating my car wiring diagrams for Triumph TR7's which are distributed world wide under an open source licence.Cons: The various tool bars and options are not always obvious and some homework is needed to master the program.
Overall: Very useful as a workable CAD program at a very reasonable price. I will be using it for many more years.

Overall: ActCAD is a lighter software, it helps in getting basic things done faster.

"Dignified and honest drawing software" Posted 2022-09-12
Pros: Not intense use, but periodical. The interface is almost identical to Autocad, fully compatible with Autocad files and great value for money. I like the license transfer feature (e.g. between home and office)
Cons: Sometimes (I don't remember details) doesn't respond the way I expect (not often and maybe it is my hardware's problem).
Overall: I think it is a great product, not much to complain about. So far the after sale support in Greece is excellent.

"Great choice for Drafting" Posted 2022-09-11
Pros: The best thing I like about using this excellent software since I started using it was how easy it is to use whether or not you have used a similar product before.
Cons: Can do with a few more short cut processes. For example being able to click on or select line item prior to selecting the modify choose.
Overall: When I reflect on my overall use of the software I think it is great once you get into the swing of things.

Overall: Need to improvise software in smooth functioning.

"ActCAD, My AutoCAD Replacement" Posted 2022-09-09
Pros: Works with AutoCAD.
Excellent pricing.
Many license options.
Look and feel of AutoCAD, fast learning curve.Cons: It has some troubles working with large image files, particularly trying to add the images to the clipboard (program crashes).
Layerstates should be incorporated into the ribbon menu rather than being an external command. I use it often when working with land development plans. Having to type the command and then close the pop-up window before moving on the the next command is annoying.Overall: All-in-all, I am very happy with ActCAD. I'd like to see you develop a civil engineering package with cogo, terrain modeling, street and utility profiles, etc. I used AutoDesk Civil 3D for many years before I had a computer crash and the program would no longer run. Today I can't afford to replace it. ActCAD has allowed me to do most of the civil drawing I need, but it would be nice to have those automated functions again for profiles, etc.

Cons: Some minor teething problem which was negligible and got solved.
Overall: Excellent answer against AutoCAD's rising prices every year for their annual subscriptions! Go for it!

"Good product until........." Posted 2022-09-09
Pros: ActCad is a simply a Intellicad product that works essentially the same as other Intellicad products. It was easy to pick up and use since I have been a ACAD, Draftsight, user for years.
Cons: I had a problem with the hatching in version 10. I was instructed to uninstall the product and reinstall the software. I could never get the software to reinstall and after several attempts to go through the support system I decided to go with another vendor of Intellicad. It literally took weeks to get a response form support. I had two paid licenses and cannot get the software to reinstall. I always get the same response from support asking me to do the same thing. I finally just took the loss.
Overall: Good and first, but left on a bad not. I really loved the software but just cannot get it to reinstall on my computer.

Pros: Almost full acad support of tools and commands. Competitive pricing. Some extra features which prove to be very efficient once you get used to them.
Cons: Sometimes something goes wrong and an error of "vectorization failed" appears. Only reboot of the software solves the error.
vlx programs not supported.Overall: Pretty solid cad solution with the most main features supported. Few minor drawbacks. Would recommend it to others.

Pros: 1. Cheaper compared to other leading software.
2. Light weight on installation.
3. Indian product developed by IndianCons: 1. Patch deployment is complicated. No publish option from central server.
2. When we type in text, we cannot see what actually we are typing i.e. we have to type blindly. The sentence is visible only when we escape from the text option.
3. getting closed abruptly and the work done is getting lost and time is wasted. File cannot be recovered.
4. Difficulty in exporting the CAD drg. to PDFOverall: Not yet fully evolved and need to catch up with lot of development.
