A-Systems JobView

Pros: The process of Accounts Payable in JobView is streamlined. Putting everything you need into one section allowing for easy tracking of vendors, invoices, due dates, and more.
Billing and Invoicing within JobView is a breeze. The program accommodates a wide variety of formats you can customize to meet you company’s needs.
By having the ability to integrate other programs with A-System JobView I can process a perfect payroll within two hours (this use to be an all-day task).
The staff are consistently demonstrating that they care about their clients they are ready and willing to help. They also ask for feedback on ways to improve the program.

Cons: Rarely there are glitches within the system that make reports hard to read, but with a quick phone call it is usually resolved right away or the next day.

Overall: Since 1983 our company has been using JobView. This software is a huge asset to our company! A-Systems JobView is a program you can depend on to streamline accounting and job management. This program includes basic easy to use features such as Accounts Payable and Receivable as well as wide a variety of features that are customizable to meet your company’s needs. The overall functionality of JobView exceeded my expectations instantly.

Pros: JobView provides a variety of detailed job reports, makes updating easy, and customizations abound. Integration with the accounting side that makes financial statements and WIP schedules a breeze. Annually there are many new features to enhance the performance of JobView.

Cons: Not as easy as QB's but much more secure and detailed.

Overall: Multi year updates, great customer service, tends to customer requests, software works great. The Support Contract is very reasonable. Been using JobView for over for over 30 years with great success in my accounting for Contractors, Banks, Bonding Companies, etc.

Pros: User friendly, reliable software support, reports export to excel, software is updated often, job cost reports are easy to read.

Cons: There are times that the software has a glitch but we are able to connect with support quickly to resolve the issue.

Overall: I have used JobView for more than 12 years. I love how user friendly the software is. If I have a problem, I can call support and get a response within the hour if not immediately. It has great job cost capability and reports that make it easy to know how your projects are doing. This software is a step above Quickbooks but a step below Sage Timberline. Great software!

Pros: I appreciate two things the most: Retainage Management and our local representative, Danielle Klopfenstein. No other software can come close to managing retainage the way A-Systems JobView does. I have dealt with many issues within our company that Danielle's expertise helped us overcome using this software in ways we did not yet understand. At times, I have had to contact A-Systems support. They also have never failed to help. Company Support makes us even more fond of this software.

Cons: This really is not a con, but I use an Excel spreadsheet to check the retainage on a Sub-Contractors Invoice before I enter it in A Systems. I don't know if that could be available within A-Systems or not. Anytime I have had an issue with A-Systems JobView, I have found that the fault was mine - a lack of knowledge of how to use the software - not the software itself.

Overall: We use this system every day and it never ceases to amaze me. My overall experience is excellent. I would not want to work without it.

Pros: Very easy program to use and does everything necessary for a mid sized construction company. Reports are accurate and easily readable. We have had this program for over 20 years. There is continuous improvements that make your job simple.
Importing from our B2W System to A-System for payroll has made our payroll function streamlined.
Technical support is # 1 - very little if any technical issues, but more so user error that I need step by step help to reverse or correct.

Cons: I have not mastered the Work In Progress on this system, as I am old school and use our CPA supplied Excel sheet. This is something I should really do.

Overall: Overall, A-Systems is a great program for a mid-sized construction company. It is easy to operate and training new employees on the program is simple. I use the program for several companies. They are easy to set up and works great for other industries.

Pros: We're a small general contractor in commercial construction. Software product is user friendly, intuitively "laid out" and efficient to use. Over the past 9 years, programmers have incorporated several enhancements customized to fit our business needs without compromising or creating confusion for other company's users. Incremental improvements and small "fixes" are regularly implemented without causing any downtime.

Cons: Job View currently does not have a construction project management module or a remote user time card/keeping system. Would be nice additions.

Overall: Software questions are accurately answered by a live person 99% of the time with a single phone call and any programming "fixes" are completed timely at no additional cost. A-Systems is easy to do business with and they thoroughly understand their software and how it fits our business.

Pros: I have been using A Systems/JobView for job cost accounting since the 1980's and have always been a fan; converting the accounting department of a small business from paper ledgers to computer-assisted accounting was a wonderful learning experience in the 80's and the customer support has always been amazing. We have used this software to manage a multi-million dollar environmental and demolition business and subsequently manage a much smaller specialty contracting business when that division was sold in the early 2000's; it is a wonderful management tool for both. The software is user friendly and generates every report you could possible need.

Cons: I haven't found any cons to report in regards to cost accounting.

Overall: Excellent customer service, easy to understand and use, comprehensive reports, and no complaints to report.

Pros: I like the way the JobView Software is organized with different work flow screens for different areas, like GL, Payroll, Payables. I like that I can print reports with lots of parameters in order to narrow down to the information I need. I also like the personal help I get from A-Systems whenever I call for help. Someone is always available to help me without listening to a recording and pressing a bunch of numbers. I like that we can store our information in "the cloud" and don't have to worry about doing a manual backup. This has also provided us with the ability to logon from anywhere.

Cons: I don't feel like the "Help" function is very user friendly. I also wish that the formatting between the PDF version of a report and the Excel Version wasn't so garbled. There are reports/functions and features that I don't use that might be of value but I don't feel like I know where to go to learn more without going to a User Conference.

Overall: Overall, I'm happy with the JobView Software. There is an ease of use and familiarity with the software that I like. The personal service that we get from A-Systems is a very big plus for me.

Pros: Job Costing, Certified Payroll reports and the support are all top notch! AR/AP is very easy to navigate.

Cons: Would like to see more tutorials for the lesser used items - I do use the ones available which is very helpful.

Overall: I've been in this industry for 30 years and have found JobView to be the most complete product. It's an easy to learn and all inclusive system. If there is an issue their support team is very responsive and great to work with.

Pros: The flexibility of the program to tweak to your exact business needs. Great reporting and integration of all the features.

The support team is also amazing when needed.

Cons: It would be great to have a true cloud based version.

Overall: We love the program and the support team. We have been using Job View for decades! I think that says it all.

Pros: Easily tracks my job costs with payables and payroll expenses. Makes payroll a breeze including union reports, quarterly and annual reports. Easy to design and modify my financial statements. Tracks my subcontracts and easy to make change orders with subs and owners. There are many reports with many options for finding the information I need. There are several ways to track information from past jobs/vendors/owners.

Cons: If I have made a mistake in posting an adjusting journal entry this software does not allow me to just delete or go back into the entry and make changes (like another software from a different job allowed). I have to make a correcting journal entry (although it does allow reversing entries). From a strict accounting background, being able to delete entries and losing the audit trail may not be a good idea anyway so is this really a con?

Overall: I have used this software for 19 years and loved it. It has so many features that I don't use but are available to other users. I use the general ledger, payroll, cash, payables, receivables, and job costing sections. I have found them easy to process information and prepare my financials. I highly recommend this software. If I have an issue (rarely) the support team has been readily available and very helpful.

Pros: A-System is user friendly and easy to use. The customer service is really the best which make any issues not a problem because everything can be resolved quickly and easy. A-system is always improving because user comments are used by the software team for continued improvements.

Cons: There should be more reports available to create without having to pay additional it should be part of the software package.

Overall: I have used A-Systems with my last 2 companies and have been very satisfied that I am able to produce the reports needed to track my accounting requirements.

Pros: Streets, LLC is a Mechanical Contractor that has been using this program for around 30 years now. When I first started using this program, I was in charge of payroll for all our construction & service employees and doing accounts receivable. I did not know all the tips and tricks this program can actually do.
In 2021 I took over doing ap's and the monthly books. I have learned so much more what this program actually can do as far as job detail listing & reports that you can generate. The break down this program can do helps so much when it comes to keeping track of job cost for several individual jobs and when I say Several at time's we have over 40 construction jobs, along with a Service Department that takes calls and manages over 125 Service Maintenance Contracts for our customers. Jobview also has an amazing Payroll system. It is very detail oriented and handles all the reporting you can think of when it comes to payroll!

This program is very in-depth, and precise to me. Every transaction that is processed/posted you can see which user has done so and able to track back and fix this issue if there is any. I love how it keeps track of the changes, so nothing can be done without a trail of posting's who has done so.

I also love attending the conferences, because just when you think you know the system there is always new tips and tricks you learn, and they always want our feedback to add new features that will help out the users even more.
If there's ever any questions, or reports we can not figure out, A-Systems is just a phone call away!

Cons: I really have no Con's, If we need this system to be able to do something it may not do, we make that phone call and 99% of the time the system does what we need it to do, we just didn't realize it did.

Overall: A-Systems is a great program, I'm pretty sure here at Streets we will be using for another 30 years!

Pros: I was new to construction and the software is very user friendly. Good checks and balances to help.

Cons: My only problem is that when I use the auto fill feature it causes the program to crash.

Overall: I love the program and the best part is the people behind it all. Always there to help when you have a question or just don't understand how to do something.

Pros: Customer Service friendly! Navigation of the system. Will re-write program as needed to fit our needs. User Conferences.

Cons: The only con is we are EST time so we have to wait until 10am if we run into any issues.

Overall: Overall experience is great! Have been using the software for 15+ years now. Operating the system if great and seamless job costing.

Pros: Support is great.
Ease of use.
GUI is amazing and you have options to change the menus.
Constantly updating with better solutions.
Users input that is actually used to better the software.
Annual users conference for A-Systems Developers to meet with end users and find better ideas to update the software.

Cons: The cost for the cloud base version of the software. We are still using the Client based software.

Overall: We have been with A-Systems since 1992 and they have been amazing in keeping up with technology. They are always coming up with new updates several times a year to make the software better and they even have a users conference every year that users are invited to attend to offer up suggestions to make the software better. They have a support line that is very good and we have used it on many occasions and they have always helped us solve our problems. We have been approached by other software companies, but we have found none we like better.
We give A-Systems a grade "A" in overall performance and customer satisfaction.

Pros: We are a small business specializing in drywall and paint. We need to have these two trades separate from each other in our system. JobView allows us to have two departments to separate our costs and see separately on our financial statements.

Our payroll has many cost codes needed to be jobcosted out for each and every job and JobView allows us to have that feature.

No problems at year end with w-2's and 1099 printing.

If ever there is a problem A-Systems is quick to help us out!

Cons: We have no problems with JobView. We feel it is user friendly.

Overall: Our overall experience with JobView and A-Systems has been a great experience . We would definitely recommend the product.

Pros: Easy to work with.
Easy to track job costs.
Can't alter checks after the fact.
Tech support is top notch.

Cons: If you do not back up before posting, it's stuck in there.

Overall: A-Systems Job View, from an admin point of view-I believe that this program is great. I like that it is not easy for anyone working in the program to "delete" or erase anything that they are doing. Job View tracks every entry with the person who is logged identification. Checks and invoices can not be altered after the fact which is great in my opinion. This program tracks job cost with ease and precision. Tech support is top notch!! I love working in this program.

Pros: Ease of use.
Great history for tracking transactions.
Bank Reconciliation module is easy to use.
Transactions cannot be undone and hidden. There is a record of every transaction once it is recorded.
Easy to move transactions and reports to spreadsheet.

Cons: Not able to click on transactions to drill down on source. Have to run a separate report.
Payables does not alert to duplicate invoice numbers.

Overall: I have enjoyed using JobView for many years. JobView personnel are friendly and provide great support.
I have never had a crash of this program nor have I had to restore from a backup. Maybe lucky but it makes me happy.

Pros: It encompasses my entire financial outlook, including both job and non-job related work. My accountant is especially grateful for the detail and thorough nature of reporting. I use it essentially all day and it holds probably 95% of the data that I need to access in any given day. The AIA documents and job reports are invaluable.

Cons: Customizing reports can be tricky and I can't always tell if all of the data is portrayed when I try to make a new report. The posting reports could be a bit more condensed, too.

Overall: I have recommended this to many of the other contractors with whom I work. Having used QuickBooks for another entity, this is far superior for the construction industry.

Pricing for the product I find to be very reasonable.
