PyRPL turns your Red Pitaya into a powerful analog feedback device.
The Red Pitaya is a commercial, affordable FPGA board with fast analog inputs and outputs. This makes it useful for quantum optics experiments, in particular as a digital feedback controller for analog systems. Based on the open source software provided by the board manufacturer, PyRPL (Python RedPitaya Lockbox) implements many devices that are needed for optics experiments with the Red Pitaya. PyRPL implements various digital signal processing (DSP) modules (see features below). It allows to arbitrarily interconnect the available DSP modules and retrieve signal values on timescales below 1 ms. The graphical user interface (GUI) provides a realtime display of the various measurement instruments and allows the easy configuration of DSP signal chains and feedback controllers. At the highest abstraction level, arbitrary feedback sequences can be defined to fulfill tasks as complex as approaching and locking a resonance of a high-finesse Fabry-Perot cavity (tested up to finesse=100,000). -

itom is an open source software suite for operating measurement systems, laboratory automation and data evaluation. One main application of itom is the development and operation of sensor and measurement system for instance in a laboratory environment. Therefore, the software has to be able to communicate with a wide range of different hardware systems, such as cameras or actuators and should provide a diversified and as complete as possible set of evaluation and data processing methods. Additionally, the rapid prototyping of modern measurement and inspection setups requires a system, where parameters or components can easily be changed at runtime, necessitating the availability of an embedded scripting language. Finally, when operating a measurement system, it is also desirable to extend the graphical user interface by system adapted dialogs and windows. xrayutilities is a python package used to analyze x-ray diffraction data. It can support with performing diffraction experiments and used for common steps in the data analysis. It can read experimental data from several data formats (spec, edf, xrdml, ...); convert them to reciprocal space for arbitrary goniometer geometries and different detector systems (point, linear as well as area detectors); for further processing the data can be gridded (transformed to a regular grid). Como técnico en informática en un Instituto de Física con el tiempo surgió la necesidad de tener que crear distintas piezas de software para ir resolviendo situaciones diarias. En este proyecto iré agregando pequeños programas en Python 2.7 que voy escribiendo para dar soluciones a algunos de los problemas que surgen día a día en el laboratorio, como ser comunicación con algunos dispositivos o rutinas para ordenar o modificar datos de forma recursiva algunos cálculos matemáticos, creación de gráficas etc. La finalidad principal del proyecto es poder poner a disposición de aquel que lo necesite mi trabajo tanto dentro del Instituto donde trabajo como fuera del mismo. Asi como tambien recibir la mayor cantidad de criticas, consejos e ideas posibles para poder mejorar mi trabajo. Podrán ver que parte de los programas están mas documentados que otros tratare de ir poniéndome al día comentando el código y escribiendo la documentación de los distintos scripts. -

Spectral takes files produced by Jasco instruments (uv-vis absorbance, fluorescence, circular dichroism readings as a function of wavelength, temperature, or time) and facilitates basic operations such as unit conversion (CD spectra), conversion into the format taken by CDPro (estimation of secondary structure; CD spectra), scatter correction (absorbance spectra), smoothing, re-sampling of the x-axis, and generic combination (sum, product, average, standard deviation) of multiple curves. Spectral-SpecPro is based on earlier software written by Stephen R Martin (MRC-NIMR London NW7 and Francis Crick Institute London NW1). -
