The NCID (Network Caller ID) project is Caller ID (CID) distributed over a network. The project contains the NCID package and 4 optional client packages. Each package is described at the NCID web site. Accent (Advanced Component Control Enhancing Network Technologies) is a comprehensive tool suite that interfaces a variety of communications systems and allows these systems to be controlled through goals (high-level user aims) and policies (lower-level system rules). Accent has been applied to the domains of: o Call Control: for telecommunications, particularly call control in Internet telephony o Home Care: for home automation and telecare, particularly for domestic appliances and devices to support home care o Sensor Networks: sensor networks, particularly managing wind farms However, the approach is generic and extensible for managing other kinds of systems. Accent is essentially software. As most of Accent in in Java, it needs at least a Java Runtime Environment but more likely a Java Software Development Kit. To interact with the real world, Accent needs relevant hardware such as a communications server (softswitch) or home automation equipment.

Cress (Communication Representation Employing Systematic Specification) allows graphical description of a wide variety of services such as in data communications/telecommunications, but Cress is not limited to this. The approach allows services to be described graphically as (work)flows of activities. Cress diagrams are automatically translated into formal languages for rigorous analysis and verification, and are also automatically translated into implementation languages for deployment and validation. Cress aims to make service design as easy as possible without requiring specialist development knowledge. It simplifies service creation to drawing diagrams, clicking buttons and defining a few tool parameters. All key functions of Cress can be controlled from the Chive diagram editor. Cress is written using portable and widely used languages (Perl and Java). It can be extended by a developer for other kinds of services that can be characterised by activity flows.

Dialow is a Smart Surfer for Linux. It allows the user to choose the cheapest ISP at any given moment. It uses pon to connect to the web and provides a dialog frontend. It is written in Bash and Gawk. ISP information is retrieved from different providers
