PICSimLab is a realtime emulator of development boards with MPLABX/avr-gdb debugger integration. PICSimLab supports microcontrollers from picsim, simavr, uCsim, qemu-stm32, qemu-esp32, and gpsim. PICSimLab has integration with MPLABX/Arduino IDE for programming the microcontroller's boards. As the purpose of PICSimLab is to emulate real hardware it does not have any source code editing support. For code editing and debugging the same tools used for a real board should be used with PICSimLab, such as MPLABX, Arduino IDE, or VSCode with PlatformIO. PICSimLab supports several devices (spare parts) that can be connected to the boards for simulation. Such as example LEDs and push buttons for simple outputs and inputs and some more complex ones like the ethernet shield w5500 for internet connection or the color graphic display ili9340 with touchscreen. Scan for WiFi devices, block selected connections, create dozens of networks and confuse WiFi scanners! Version 3 is in development. It is stable to use, but it is very different. It is command-line based, which allows it to offer not just more features, but make them more customizable. This software allows you to easily perform a variety of actions to test 802.11 wireless networks by using an inexpensive ESP8266 WiFi SoC (System On A Chip). The main feature, the deauthentication attack, is used to disconnect devices from their WiFi network. No one seems to care about this huge vulnerability in the official 802.11 WiFi standard, so I took action and enabled everyone who has less than 10 USD to spare to recreate this project. I hope it raises more attention on the issue. In 2009 the WiFi Alliance actually fixed the problem (see 802.11w), but only a few companies implemented it into their devices and software. -

Scriptable database and system performance benchmark
sysbench is a scriptable multi-threaded benchmark tool based on LuaJIT. It is most frequently used for database benchmarks, but can also be used to create arbitrarily complex workloads that do not involve a database server. extensive statistics about rate and latency is available, including latency percentiles and histograms. Low overhead even with thousands of concurrent threads. sysbench is capable of generating and tracking hundreds of millions of events per second. New benchmarks can be easily created by implementing pre-defined hooks in user-provided Lua scripts. Can be used as a general-purpose Lua interpreter as well, simply replace #!/usr/bin/lua with #!/usr/bin/sysbench in your script. Execute events for this many seconds with statistics disabled before the actual benchmark run with statistics enabled. This is useful when you want to exclude the initial period of a benchmark run from statistics. -

It was designed to exercise various physical subsystems of a computer as well as the various operating system kernel interfaces. stress-ng was originally intended to make a machine work hard and trip hardware issues such as thermal overruns as well as operating system bugs that only occur when a system is being thrashed hard. Use stress-ng with caution as some of the tests can make a system run hot on poorly designed hardware and also can cause excessive system thrashing which may be difficult to stop. -

Most test frameworks for C require a lot of boilerplate code to set up tests and test suites -- you need to create a main, then register new test suites, then register the tests within these suites, and finally call the right functions. This gives the user great control, at the unfortunate cost of simplicity. Criterion follows the KISS principle, while keeping the control the user would have with other frameworks. Supports parameterized tests and theories. Progress and statistics can be followed in real time with report hooks. TAP output format can be enabled with an option. Runs on Linux, FreeBSD, macOS, and Windows (Compiling with MinGW GCC and Visual Studio 2015+). This is a cli disk diagnostic that runs under Windows, Linux and DOS/BIOS. It is a traditional disk diagnostic in the style of diagnostics going back into the 1960's and the first disk drives. Although CLI driven, I have found it more useful that many other types of diagnostics for disk, controller and driver development than GJI based diagnostics. The command forms are terse, and it allows either use as an immediate mode debugger of drives or it can be used to form full testing scripts. It is fairly compact at 4069 lines for the main module, and features plug in IO modules at about 500 lines each for both Windows and Linux, and DOS/BIOS.
