Impact is an explicit Finite Element Program Suite which simulates dynamic impact events. It has a range of elements, contact handling and different material laws. Models can be created, solved and analyzed with the included pre- and postprocessor. Impact is based on an Explicit Time stepping algorithm. These kind of codes are used to simulate dynamic phenomena such as car crashes and similar, usually involving large deformations.

Parametric analysis is often needed for exploring design options, especially when a global optimization method is not available, or the optimization result is in doubt. Parametric analysis can also be applied to all design variables simultaneously, which forms an exhaustive search that, providing that the search grid is fine enough, will guarantee a global optimum solution. In order to perform complex parametric analyses on multiple parameters with more than a handful of alternative values each, a tool to generate commands for the simulation model to run, and to collect results afterwards will be needed. jEPlus has been developed as such a parametric tool for EnergyPlus. Advanced Simulation Library (ASL) is a free and open source multiphysics simulation software package. Its computational engine is based, among others, on the Lattice Boltzmann Methods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lattice_Boltzmann_methods) and is written in OpenCL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCL) which enable extraordinarily efficient deployment (http://asl.org.il/benchmarks) on a variety of massively parallel architectures, ranging from inexpensive FPGAs, DSPs and GPUs up to heterogeneous clusters and supercomputers. The engine is hidden entirely behind C++ classes, so that no OpenCL knowledge is required from application programmers. ASL can be utilized to model various coupled physical and chemical phenomena and employed in a multitude of fields: computational fluid dynamics, virtual sensing, industrial process data validation and reconciliation, image-guided surgery, computer-aided engineering, high-performance scientific computing, etc.. -

FAST Simulations
An Open source Analysis and SImulation Toolbox for Fuel Cells
FAST is an Analysis and Simulation Toolbox (FAST) for Fuel Cells (FC) FAST-FC is the doctorate work of David B. Harvey and was developed with support from the U.S. DOE, Ballard, and Queen's University. Derivative works of FAST-FC include FC-APOLLO which is a forked branch of this project intended to capture the code state at the exit of the funded DOE project. FAST-FC is the open and active community branch. FAST-FC is developed and maintained by the original creator and developer, David B. Harvey. Features of FAST-fc include transport of gases and liquids, multi-step reaction kinetics, transient and steady state operation for performance and durability, and scalable dimensionality from 1D - 3D domains. Future development work is on-going in FAST-fc and our strategic development schedule includes membrane degradation, improved liquid water transport models through the application of pore networks, and extension to stack-level simulation. -

Quadtree Demo
Demonstrates a quadtree for spatial indexing of triangles
This C++ demo allows users to interactively explore a quadtree's behavior. For this purpose the demo uses a quadtree data structure based on axis-aligned bounding boxes to speed up the search for triangles in a mesh. Depending on a search point all triangles of a quadtree's region are retrieved and relevant information about the search is shown. Quadtree creation can be parametrized by three parameters: - Maximum tree depth. - Maximum number of triangles per region. - Percentage of total number of triangles per region. The OpenGL graphics library is used to render the results, regions as well as the underlying triangle mesh. Navigation (e.g. zooming, moving) is available by keyboard and mouse. Example meshes are provided in wavefront *.obj format and can be opened from inside the program. -

A Spectral Element Solver for Structural Health Monitoring Application
A solver based on the spectral element method, used in conjunction with FEMAP, as a pre- and post- processor. It solves the elastic wave propagation problem, and the coupling with a piezoelectric materials for excitation and sensing. It is currently in 2D and has both static and transient capabilities. -
