Open Source Screen Savers

Nice colorful screensaver for Mac OS X.. Many settings are available. It is native, open, small, and still runs perfectly on 10.11 (El Capitan). The text and font is freely editable, by default the computer name is displayed. Older versions are available to also run on previous OS versions (universal builds available). Just pick the shapes to be rendered with random colors and have fun.

Program can be used as screensaver, via command line to generate a personalized greeting or interactively to generate in 3D scenes with flowers, flower elements, bouquets or meadows. In screen saver mode flowers are created randomly and moved on the screen. By configuration you can select, what types are displayed - random flowers, bouquets and/or meadows - and the speed of movement. In generation mode you call the program from the command line, providing the type of display, the files to generate (picture only or picture and XML file) and one or two texts used as seeds for random number generation and as text to be placed in the picture. Thus you can create an unique flower greeting. In interactive mode you can build your own flower elements, flowers, bouquets or meadows interactively, modify them, move them, save them and load stored elements, flowers, bouquets, meadows or complete scenes. You can also make a screenshot of the actual display.

Enigweb is a firefox extension similar to the Thunderbird Enigmail extension. It will encrypt or sign textareas, and decrypt/verify OpenPGP data. Additionally extensions will be provided for major webmail providers.

Karsten SlideShow is a playlist-based slide show program for picture and movie files on Windows. It offers flexible, item-related control over the presentation sequence, and runs shows in a window, the screen saver, or the desktop wallpaper.

The demo applications can be used as regular program, as well as a screen saver. Just rename accordingly (.exe -> .scr).

PyPowerMan shall be a replacement for KPowersave which is not further supported by Ubuntu. At least it should manage the powerstate of a laptop using different profiles.
